Question about Hitachi 55VS69 55" Projection HDTV

I have a hitachi 55vs69 projection television. Lately, it has been shutting down every 15 minutes or so. The screen turns dark but you can still hear video until about a couple minutes later the led light for power starts blinking and then shuts off completely. The lamp has been replaced about 6 months ago.

Hi,

First step is to unplug the 120 vac power for a few minutes to clear any corrupted data that may be present in the controller circuits.

If a "power" reset doesn't help and the lamp or bulb is installed correctly, you most likely have a failed replacement bulb. The symptoms are all standard indications of a failed bulb.

Reduced lamp life can be caused by:

  1. Lightning and other 120 vac power bumps.
  2. Collisions with vacuum cleaners or other incidental impacts while the TV bulb is operating.
  3. Starting the TV without a complete cool down. Bulb will consume a small amount of mercury with each start. Excessive consumption occurs when bulb is "Hot" and turned on.
  4. Wrong bulb installed as replacement.(Philips original replaced with Osram or El Cheapo)
  5. Poor quality or damaged bulb installed as replacement.
  6. Bulb damaged during replacement
  7. Bulb installed incorrectly at replacement.
Almost all Hitachi 55vs69 "No Picture" failures are related to the bulb.

Many of our service events are with customers that purchased El Cheapo bulbs from "shopping cart" websites or picked up a bulb from a small "local" TV shop. Many small shops stock of 3 or 4 bulbs and try to substitute or cross reference to fit more than 200 models of TVs from 7 different manufacturers. If a premature bulb failure occurs, they have the opportunity to sell you some expensive service.

Hitachi 55VS69 screen goes black and there is no volume and it will not turn off unless unplugged.
The key here is you have to unplug it---it means the problem is related to the microprocessor which may become confused because of an issue elsewhere in the set---no real easy answer except it may be expensive to locate and fix.

The temp and lamp light start blinking when i turn on the tv and the screen is black and the lamp light stays on hitachi i think it is a 55 inch model # 55vs69a
CK the Lamp Fan to see if it is running ,If you are still running the orignal Lamp then replace it . Mats has them for $99.00

My hitachi 55vs69a rear projection tv have a purple streak down the center of the screen .how can i fix this
you need new convergence chips, they are 2 big chips screwed to the big heatsinks on the right of the tv lookin from the back, the part number is stk392-110.they need to be soldered in.

I need both panels of the screen for a Hitachi 55VS69A. I don't really want to pay that much if possible.
You can find a new OEM Hitachi replacement lenticular screen and Fresnal screen (availble together as the screen assembly) for a model # 55VS69A from a major Hitachi distributor at the following links:

HITACHI 55VS69 BLUE SPOT ON SCREEN.........
yes the light engine needs replacement.but also check out the bulb.because many a times both get faulty when light engine has problem.

I own a Hitachi 50VS69A. The temp and lamp light start blinking when I turn on the tv, the screen is black, there is no sound and the fan runs. After a few seconds, the tv turns off and the lamp light stays on. I replaced the lamp, but the issue is the same. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
