The FORMAT process is trying to write data to the card, but that writing is NOT successful,
i.e., the memory on the card is damaged/defective, and so it "fails".
Responsibly recycle the card, and purchase a replacement memory-card.
There are no 4GB SD cards. A card that size is actually an SDHC card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different. Many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.
I don't quite follow what you have done or are trying to do, but that last bit about formatting sounds like the problem. Formatting a memory card deletes everything on it.
I would suggest that instead of putting your SD card into your camera for printing, that you put it into a card reader attached to a computer. You should then be able to access the card as a removable drive and print the pictuires with the computer's printer. There are adapters for fitting Micro SD cards into a standard size SD card slot- maybe that is what you are using.
I'm having the exact same problem! I have formatted 2 SD cards on the computer and it still didn't work. Every time I've tried formatting on the camera, it says it is and then says again that it needs to be formatted. I even went out and bought a whole new Kodak SD card, thinking I just needed a Kodak one, but no luck.
I can't help, but I was just wondering if you ever got the problem solved because I really would like to know.
I have the same problem to beginning with. The new 2GB SD Micro card/with adapter didn't work at all. It didn't see it by window explorer. Others older once did work properly. Make sure you update your SD card reader driver to the latest version. It should be work. My did after updated the card reader driver.
Or update your all in once card reader if you have one.
I had this problem too. Some SD cards won't properly format. My trick was I formatted the card in a different device first (canon Powershot A-630) then put the card in the R-09 and formatted it again. it took about 8 seconds for a 2 gig SD card to format.
Hi, I have a soloution I have literally just done it, for some reason the cards arn't going in camera far enough, get a little bit of card from a box and put it on memory card before you close the door, when u close the door it pushes the card further into the camera you can then format it and take pictures. it does work as i have just done it regards kev
