I have the same problem with my Intensity every time I keep it in my pocket. Unfortunately, you can't disable the voice recognition function completely, but you can make it more managable.

You can get rid of the voice that says "Please say a command" when you hit the voice recognition button, and instead make it just a single tone by following these steps:

- Hit the voice recognition button on the side of the phone
- Press the right option button to go to the Settings
- Go to #5, Prompts
- Select Mode
- Select Tones Only (the last option)
- Hit OK

You can also reduce the volume by changing the output from the speakerphone to the ear piece, to make it quieter. Go to the Prompts menu like you did above, and select #2, Audio playback. Set it to "earpiece" and hit OK.

Now, when you accidentally hit that button, the phone will just emit a short tone that you probably won't even hear. Hope that helps!

How can I disable VoiceOver?

LG Smart TV System - Voice Recognition

Pressing the 'Mic' button on the Magic Remote calls up LG's voice recognition system, joining similar systems offered by Panasonic and, most notably, Samsung. Interestingly, LG's voice system doesn't offer you control over your TV; rather it just allows you to verbally input terms into the TV's content search engine. An engine that covers everything from the VOD services carried by LG's Smart TV platform to YouTube and the Internet.
This approach to voice interaction actually makes perfect sense to us, as it stops the voice recognition system from getting too complicated or 'invading' parts of the TV's functionality where it really doesn't need to go.
The system recognised pretty much everything we said to it accurately, and the presentation of the results is attractive. It's great, too, that unlike Samsung's Smart TV system, you can see instantly when a search result appears which source that option is available from, and how much it might cost you if it's available via a pay per view platform.
It's important to add, too, that as well as supporting searching for specific films, TV shows, actors and so on, LG's online platform carries a recommendations system activated, for instance, just by saying 'show me recommendations

How to turn Bluetooth on and off on a Samsung Intensity

Like many other cell phones, the Samsung Intensity (SCH U450) is Bluetooth-capable. Turning Bluetooth on and off on the Intensity is easy to do, as is configuring the phone's various Bluetooth options and setting up new connections.

To turn Bluetooth on, press the Menu button (the round button in the upper center of the numeric keypad). On the main menu screen, select the Settings & Tools submenu in the lower right hand corner. Then scroll down to item #3 (Bluetooth Menu) and select it.

If Bluetooth is currently disabled, the option in the lower left corner of the screen will say "Turn On." Press the left option button to turn Bluetooth on; you'll see a box pop up that says "Bluetooth power on." Now you can pair your phone with other Bluetooth devices, either by initiating a connection (choose Add New Device from the Bluetooth menu, or if you've paired with the device before, select it from the list of devices) or by making your phone discoverable (click the right option button, select Discovery Mode, and turn it on).

To disable Bluetooth, go back into the Bluetooth menu and just hit the left option button ("Turn Off"). A box will appear that says "Bluetooth power off."

If you're not sure if Bluetooth is on or off at any given time, just look at the status bar at the top of your Intensity's main screen. If you see the Bluetooth icon -- a sharply-angled white "B" on the blue background -- then Bluetooth is currently enabled.

Samsung Intensity: How to avoid the voice recognition prompt

The Samsung Intensity has many nice features. It comes equipped with voice recognition software, which many people like. However, for others it is merely annoying. If you keep your phone in your pocket or purse, you might hear a muffled voice saying "Please say a command" from time to time as the phone's voice recognition button is bumped.

Fortunately, you can disable this voice prompt (if you want to) with just a few simple steps:

1. Press the voice recognition button on the upper right hand side of the phone.
2. Press the right options button to go to the Settings.
3. Select Prompts (#5).
4. Select Mode (#1).
5. Select Tones Only (the last choice).
6. Hit OK to save the change.

Now, when you accidentally bump that button, you'll just hear a short single tone, rather than the voice prompt.

If you want to reduce the volume for the voice recognition (either for the voice prompt or for the tone) that can be done easily as well. Follow the steps above to get to the Prompts menu, and select Audio playback (choice #2). Highlight the choice for Earpiece, and hit OK to save your choice.

The voice recognition function will now use the earpiece to play any sounds, rather than the speakerphone, so whether you set it for a voice prompt or a tone, the sound will be much quieter and hopefully you won't even notice it.

You can also lock the phone when you're not using it, which will disable the voice recognition button so you don't have to worry about bumping it. To lock your phone, just hold down the zero (0) key for two seconds. You'll see a message on the screen that the phone is now locked.

How do i disable voice dialing on my verizon samsung intensity

Unfortunately these cell phone companies aren't smart enough yet to understand that 98% of the time these 'disability features' on phones are only used by accident by people not wanting to use them.

There is a way to make it less annoying though. Go open up that stupid voice command, go to "settings>prompts>mode>tones only" - this will make it not talk to you.

And the next one will take it off of speaker phone, and into the earpiece:
"settings>prompts>audio playback>earpiece"

I encourage you to complain as much as possible to verizon and samsung so they'll fix these annoying flaws that they make in every phone.
