No power to hard drive Fujitsu lifebook laptop

I tried to boot up and i received a message no OS found.
I thought i had a bad hard drive so purchased a new one, but i get the same message.
I connected the old hard drive to a desktop and i can see all the info in it, hard drive is good.
I believe that maybe the hard drive isn't getting power.
The BIOS recognizes the hard drive, but not in DOS, C: not valid

There is another option that is free or nearly so.Take a look at this operating system. http://shop.canonical.com/index.php?cPath=17 It's called linux and you can buy a CD for next for next to nothing plus shipping. What's great about this OS is there are very few virus written because it is open source.I have wubi on my win 7 laptop and it runs faster than windows.Tons of free applications and it looks like a Mac OS.They used to send free install disks but now you have to bye a 5 pack. The store is in UK.I don't know how much the CD will cost but it will be way cheaper than windows 7.As a guess maybe $15.00

If this is not the solution that you are looking for please re post because when we pick a question to answer FixYa takes it out of the questions.

The new hard drive will not have an OS on it until you install one, so expect a no OS found message.

The old hard dirve may have lost its master boot record or the boot cylinder is bad.

You mentioned DOS. Do you have bootable DOS diskettes available?

First plug the old drive into the desk top and copy off any data you wish to save.

Depending on the operating system on the desktop and utilities available you might be able to recreate the master boot record on the old drive. Be very careful you know which drive is which or you could cause problems with the desktop drive.

You might also be able to run DISK MANAGER and test the drive for errors.

If you can boot the DOS diskettes the command you need to run is FDISK /MBR with the old hard drive installed.

Sorry, I really need a lot more info to be more specific.

Driver lifebook s2000 fujitsu

I cannot find the drivers. Even Fujitsu no longer offers the drivers. XP is a dead OS (no longer supported). If it won't boot, and you have important data on it, I recommend you get a USB Hard Drive Adapter, pull the hard drive out of it, and copy your data to another machine.

Can't perform system recovery on Fujitsu LifeBook UH 552

Hi

Looks like a hard disk problem.
Since you have the recovery cd, and also you do not need to save the data, install a new hard disk and use the recovery disks to reinstall the OS.

I have a FS Lifebook E4010 typ laptop. Recently the HD was changed to a larger one, and XP Pro OS was installed on it. Now the booting process starts, and after 5...10 seconds breaks, and starts again,...

The replacement hard drive sounds defective, remove hardware and re-seat it back into place, If there is still no change remove the hard drive take it to where it was purchased and have them test the hardware for issues.

I am trying to wipe my laptop clean and start over because of a virus. I need to know how to reformat it. It's a Fujitsu lifebook s7010. Thanks!

Just pop the OS cd and boot from it. Follow the instructions and will give you the options to format the drive. For best result download http://www.dban.org/download and wipe the drive clean.

Fujitsu Lifebook does not boot up

Have you tried draining the static on your computer?

Turn off the computer
remove the battery and adapter
press and hold the power button for 1 minute
plugged back in the adapter and battery
turned on the computer

if not resolved:

tried using an external monitor and connect to your computer to check if you can have a video on the external, if yes it is possible an LCD issue

Also, you may try using a flashlight in your LCD and check if you can see any, if none?

I suspect possible LCD issue.
