http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=0&thid=761645 Generic problem for all Vacuums We purchased a Hoover Steam/Vac Posted by hjopmi on Jul 09, 2008 We purchased a Hoover Steam/Vac (F5915-900) cleaner. We assumed it be a combination STEAM and Vacuum machine. Where is the Steam? I will await your reply. Thank You. Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. I have a similar Hoover “SteamVac” and the vacuum does not create steam as you stated, but you do have to use the hottest water with cleaning solution and the Hoover will clean your carpet by spraying down the solution, the scrubbing brushes will loosen the dirt and the vacuum will pickup the excess water until the holding tank is full and then you have to empty it, and then start again. The word “Steam Vac” is something that the Hoover factory labeled but so far I have not seen anything that actual produces “Steam” while cleaning. Feel free to contact the Hoover factory with your complaint @ the information listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.com Telephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead. Hoover Steam Vac V2, Model #F7430-900 I have a Hoover Steam Vac V2, model #F7430-900. The spring loaded valve on the soap dispenser needs replacing -is this possible or do I have to get the entire tank. Thanks
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You cannot replace the spring loaded value on the soap dispenser – it is a whole assembly and would need to replace the entire tank, you can buy them new or sometimes a local vacuum dealer may have a good used one on hand and that would work as well – check the yellow pages for a local vacuum dealer or Hoover dealer for replacement of the part. http://www.hoover.comTelephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST
