I have a sony triniton tv,It is a kv-29f1u model, which is about 9 years old. When first switched on, the sound comes on but no picture, the screen is black for a minute or so, and when a light image comes on, it goes blank for a few seconds. It made a clicking sound the other day and now has a green cast to it.

For the last week my TV has been going to a black screen for 10 seconds or so then the picture returns. It has been continual. Last night it stopped going to black screen, but now the standby light flashes 5 consecutive times and the color went haywire. A lot of red and everything that is suppose to be black is green.
I did a soft and hard reset with no success. What's wrong and is it worth fixing? Bought new in November 2002.
The 7 blinks indicate a high voltage shutdown (high voltage exceeded 33,000V). This is usually caused by a defective regulator. Could you please post the exact model number (KVxxx) and I'll look up the part you will likely need?
It's called the aspect ratio - and on the WEGA design I think you've got a button on the remote labled picture mode.. If not or that doesn't work go into the menu and look for aspect or aspect ratio and rest that to 16:9...
