Hello: I have a virtually new IBM Think Pad Laptop Series 1420i and all of a sudden, it went blank, black dead with this message: "Insert System Diskette and Reboot" so i inserted the CD Recovery Diskette and no matter how many times I insert and try, nothing works and that one line message against a pitch black background appears. PLEASE HELP! Thanks, Sally ([email protected])

Its possible that the fault is not the ubuntu or the pc doctor that you removed but just the heat. Try to clean all the dust from the vents with a can of pressed air or with a small vacuum if you can open the cover. After that try again and watch out when you work with it not to cover the vents because it overheats very fast.
