My mother board is Intel D915GAV.
I have installed an LG DVD burner using an IDE to SATA adapter and cable as the IDE slots are being used. The SATA ports 0-3 are "not detected" in the BIOS. How and where do I enable them to use my DVD drive?

Re: SATA ports not enabled.
Boot your pc and go into your BIOS. Select ATA/IDE configuration. Select advanced and then drive configuration. Yours should be set to Enhanced ( or Native ). Hit F10 to save and exit or use the top menu. See if this helps. If this did't work you might have a cable that needs a floppy power cable plugged into the hard drive along with others. If this fixed your problem please rate it as fixed. If it didn't just add a comment and I'll be glad to help you further. Thanks.

That motherboard doesnt support ATA it supports upto 6 SATA devices which is actually better and faster. You will need to take your DVD/RW back and ask to swap for a SATA and also make sure you buy a SATA cable and good thing is these are actually cheaper and faster. Its actually a very nice motherboard dont be disappointed. Cheers from Scott and plz vote
