I have a crate fxt120 and I cant play through the input. The amp pops anytime i turn the volume knob. I can play through the insert jack I just have no control over the sound. Is this the input jack...

1. Sounds like it's the input jack., but it could be the volume knob. Have you tried turning Gain1 and Gain 2 or the Clean Channel volume? Try them first when you're plugged in to the jack on the left , then when you're plugged in the back. If none of these work, it's most likely the preamp. 2. Even if the preamp is shot, there's a quick fix - get a guitar preamp or an effects pedal - they have volume and tone controls. 3. Finally - many pros just plug into the aux jack(on the rear panel) and control the volume and tone through their instruments. Hope one of these works. Good Luck.

Do I need to clean my noisy FV500L pedals or is there a less intrusive fix?

I suggest a shot of DeOxit 5 into the pots to clean them up. If not, replace thepots.

HAS ONLY THREE QUATER VOLUME USING ORTRFON OM10 CARTRIDGE

If you have tried a different cartridge and got full volume, then either the Ortrfon is faulty or that the pre-amp inside you amp has problems working with that make of cartridge. If you have lower volume with another make of cartridge too, then the pre-amp in your amp is faulty. Remember this pre-amp will not affect any other amp function, only the record player volume. Most of these pre-amps are a single IC around some minor components. If replacing the IC doesn't correct the fault, it could be one of the minor parts around the IC that's pulling the volume down.
It's also possible that the Ortrfon causes the fault on the pre-amp too. Perhaps it gives off a stronger signal that causes the pre-amp to reduce the volume. I'm not saying the Cartridge is to blame, but maybe there is a fault on the pre-amp that is only triggered by that brand of cartridge?

Connect my BA7800 to my laptop that only has a headphone jack

As you stated in your question there are 3 3.5mm headphone jacks connected to the speakers. Green is for headphones, red is for microphone, and black is probably just a line in connector.

plug the green connector from the speakers into your headphone port on your laptop and it should work.

because the speakers are self powered and have a few adjustment knobs on them, you will have to tinker with the volume coming from the laptop and from the speakers, so you don't have distorted, scratchy sound from the speakers when playing music at loud levels.

my suggestions is turn the laptop volume down to a quater of the volume and then turn the speakers up, let the speakers do the hard work and not the laptop..

How to clean volume pot on a rmx5050

Just spray a few shots but you have to take the top cover apart, then take out 3 philips screws in the pots module, take off caps and then you should be able to give'em a good cleaning spray shots.

My philips Go Gear 16gb sounds like it has a flat battery.

Your speaker or headphones are likely shot. Try different headphones and see if that fixes the problem.

Fender CBTwin Original. Output volume drops occasionally 5 to 6 times within a 3 minute period. The main problem is I don't know WHERE it is when I turn it on. If it is in the ''low output' then when it...

Might want to try turning the volume control back and forth. IF you hear scratching, there could be some dirty contacts that are causing this problem. Turning the volume control back and forth sometimes helps "clean" it.

My Tchnics Sa-Da10 shuts down on what appears to

Ahh technics. Technics always had overheating problems, trust me. Every since they started, their amps would get so hot they would hurt to touch. The reason the fan is not coming on seams to be something inside the circuit board. I'm sure that technics could fix this. If the fan works out of the receiver, then it must not be the fan. ;P

I would maybe get a computer fan, and just put it on top of the receiver and turn it on, or send it in for fixing. Also, do you have to crank the volume to get the speakers to play at your volume, and does the impeadence match the receiver. Because you may be pushing the receiver too hard.
