I got a laptop and went to get a router so I could connect wireless from my desktop. Anyway it connected fine but it never stays connected. It disconnects constantly and all I have to do go and unplug the router - wait a few minutes and then plug it back in. But it is very irratating to be doing something and having the connection dropped. Any ideas as to how to solve this problem? Thanks..

I'm having the same problem. Though I have lag spikes as well... the router is seperate from the cable modem. I'm trying a few things to see if they'll work. The other router, of course worked beautifully, so I feel it's something with this one.

Mine has done it as well, gets a little bit annoying when your playing a mmorpg and you get lag deathed. I've tried looking everywhere to a solution and as bad as it sounds I'm thinking of going over to the Linksys side. I've never had a problem with them.

Do you connect the router to a separate modem, or is the modem integrated into the router?

Are you connecting wirelessly, or wired?

Update the firmware on the router to the latest version available on Belkin's website. Do this over a wired connection, NOT wireless. Also, make sure that your modem is not the issue.

Wont connect to the internet

Try this, assuming you're using Internet Explorer: Go to Tools > Internet Options and select the Connections tab. Does it show your old dial-up connection in the list? If so highlight it and click on REMOVE. Close IE and re-open it. It should now use the Belkin LAN connection.
