The alarm dings. Why does the ice/water dispenser then shut off and lock?

Not sure if I'm reading this right. Is the alarm you are talking about the one that tells you the door is not closed all the way??? If that is correct, then the reason your ice/water system is not working is because the wiring system for the dispenser is fed through a switch on the freezer door which keeps the dispenser off when the door is opened. You need to correct the door problem causing the alarm to ding and that should also fix the dispenser problem. Possibly a door adjustment needed. Door top edges should be aligned and even across the top and the gap between the doors should also be the same distance top to bottom if this is a side x side.

Trunk ajar light comes on while driving. and panic alarm goes off by its self

You have bad connections/switches all over the place. i would go over all of them with chemical cleaners and also work the heck out of all switches to make sure they open and close properly. You do this correctly and you will have eliminated all false alarms

New refrig from lowes one week old. now makes ding ding ding ding ding noise 5 times? looked in manual no help

Hell Bill, I am happy to assist you! Sounds like you are referring to the temperature alarm. When the refrigerator is beeping or buzzing, it may be a warning sign of a possible malfunction or an unsafe, interior temperature. To silence the buzzer, you can depress the ALARM OFF button. However, if you have already done this, try unplugging the unit or flipping the household circuit breaker for about ten minutes.

If the alarm continues, it could possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the temperature control/board or wiring failure. I would recommend connecting with a professional appliance tech for a clear-cut diagnosis or the manufacturer directly.

"1999 Buick Century" unknown dinging draining

It's probably your ignition not being exactly disconnected when you remove the key.Until you get a new ignition (keyswitch),just jiggle the switch with your fingers after you remove the ke7y and see if the dinging stops. my Aerostar has that problem right now. don-ohio

Is there any way to shut the door alarm off?, my wife can't stand it. Thanks!

If it doesn't have a button to turn off the alarm on the front panel, there is nothing that can be done.

Door alarm continually dings

This model and the Kenmore equivalent still have lots of bugs... I've replaced the microprocessor board on mine twice -- thankfully under warranty -- costs in excess of $600,,,
my suggestions are:  1)  verify that the two door switches (at top seal area one each side) appear to be working OK -- push them w/ your finger and see if the the refrigerator light goes off  2)  either pull the plug on the refrigerator or open the breaker feeding it -- count 30 seconds and put power back to it -- it's a computer, every so often you have to "reboot" it because it it loses its mind now and then...  3)  you should be able to push (I think the left most touch pad) the touch pad key under the alarm to shut it off....  4) if all else fails, ??? can you afford not to replace it ???
