I have a Carrier 38CKC with the control wires cut...

I have a Carrier central air compressor/condenser unit where some idiot cut the 24v line from the furnace. On the outside they hook to a blue and brown wire inside the exterior unit. In the furnace end I hook to blue and yellow. Is there a polarity to these wires (such as yellow to blue and blue to brown) or does it not matter?

There's no polarity, it's AC voltage.

Ac does have polarity unless its 240 then they are both hot. If its the 2 low voltage wires for outside a/c you can't mix them up its just for coil on contactor
