Hello!

I also had serious problems with this game recently, but finally a simple software called SwitftShader2.0 solved it. In my case sea.dll wasn't directly involved, but you may gice this solution a try:

Recently I also had a problem with this game. Every time i tryed to start a new game, an error occured, stating, that the engine.exe stopped, and the program exited. After spening all night researching on this topic, i found the solution: you should install SwiftShader 2.0. It is a simple and great program (as far as i know it changes the graphical performance, in order to get the game work).

You can download it from here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/new-horizons/downloads/swiftshader-v20-demo

Having downloaded, sipmply install it to the root folder of the game (in my case it is C:Program filesBethesda SoftworksPirates of the Caribbean)
Note that, there is a "Config" file in this root folder, and using that you can make the graphical settings of the game (resolution, set it to full screen mode, etc.). For some reasons this didn't want to work in my case, but there is an other way of doing these settings: in this root folder you can also find an "engine.ini" file, which can be opened as a .txt file. If opened as .txt, than you can rewrite the data in it in order to make the desired changes (for examlpe you should rewrite "full_screen = 0" to "full_screen = 1", to activate full screen mode. You cn also chage the graphical resolution of the game this way.)

The link i have given to download SwiftShader2.0 is originally created for "New Horison", which is a promising mode for Pirates of the Caribbean. You can also download this full mode, and install all its features -it containis SwiftShader2.0. Installing this mode may also get the game work -but this way you won't be able to play original version of the game . This mode actually contains much more adventure -for example you can choose from about 7 very different charachters to play with! But personally i decided to play without whis mode, because in my system it wasn't performing well.

I hope, this will solve your problems too. /Sorry for spelling mistakes/

I managed to find out some other details:
in my case, I guess, the main problem was, that the game couldn't communicate with my Intel on board graphic card, what is more, it didn't see my AMD Radeon video card. Finally i found 2 soultion:
First soultion: swich off Intel on board graphic card. This can be done in BIOS. By switching it off and makeing the system to use the other graphic card, solved my problem.
Second solutin: Use a software, called SwiftShader2.0, -as i said- which can make the game use the Intel on board graphic card without any problems.
The link i have given to SwiftShader is only a demo version of this.
Although it is only a demo, it is working without any problems -i'm not sure, fi it has any limitation, for example a trial period, or something. So if you decide to ude it, you might find it out. ---Some other info: If you have Vista:
I have read, that somtimes Vista preforming well, only when you use it as an administrator. So before trying to do these things, chage you status to administrator.
You could give it a try, and run the game in compatibiy modes (althuogh in my Windows 7 system, it didn't get any better by doing that). ---

Finally, i would like to share you an other link. You would have a great use of it, after you managed to solve the problem, and play the game. This is a walkthrough of the game, helping to get the quests done. Can be extremely useful, because the game prone to contain bugs, and without this help you can't be sure, that you will be able to get throught the tasks. How to run msointl.dll

dll files are not made to run on it's own they are part of a program and run in itself as a system file for that program. It helps the exe to run any event described in the exe encoding. In case you are getting an error in operating system that means that particular dll has corrupted and now you require to repair your operating system. In case it's a program then you are required to uninstal that program and re-install it.

To go one directory back, enter “cd ..” in the command box and press “Enter.”
3.When you’ve located the Gphone.exe DLL file you want to remove, type “regsvr32 /u SampleDLLName.dll” (e.g., “regsvr32 /u jl27script.dll”) and press your “Enter” key.
That’s it. If you want to restore any Gphone.exe DLL file you removed, type “regsvr32 DLLJustDeleted.dll” (e.g., “regsvr32 jl27script.dll”) into your command box, and press your “Enter” key.

1.Click Windows Start menu > Control Panel > Internet Options.
2.Under Home Page, select the General > Use Default.

4.Select Apply > OK.
5.You’ll want to open a fresh web page and make sure that your new default home page pops up.
Gphone.exe Removal Tip
Is your computer acting funny after deleting any Gphone.exe files? I recommend using a program like File Recover from PC Tools. File Recover saves deleted files that otherwise can’t be recovered by Windows operating sytem.
