Question about Washing Machines

Maytag LAT8816AAE Pump Height Capacity

I know all pumps have a vertical pump height rating... and I'd like to move my washer from the first floor down into the basement. However, I'd need to know if the built-in pump can handle a 7' pump height to the drain line... or if I need to put a supplemental pump in place.

Of course... the washer came with the house... and the manual is nowhere to be found....

Thanks in advance!

SEVEN FT IS ABOUT THE LIMIT DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU ARE HOOKING IT UP TO. IF IT EMPTIES OUT INTO A LARGE DRAIN (2 OR 3 INCH) THEN SEVEN FOOT MAY BE O,K,
IF YOU ARE GOING TO COUPLE IT TO A 1 INCH LINE, THERE MAY BE TOO MUCH RESISTANCE.

Im got a pump wather to the roof which pump i need?thank you

there is not enough information in this post
pumps ( centrifugal) have a suction height and a discharge ( head height)
so if you are sucking from a tank at ground level then the head height is the determining factor
if you have to suck from below ground level then the suction height also will determine the pump required
it will be best if you take the parameters ( suction height, head height, pipe length from pump to tank base and flow rate required in gallons per hour) along to a pump and irrigation specialist shop and from the performance charts that relate to pumps they will be able to recommend a pump that will handle the job and fit well inside those parameters
Too small a pump will struggle to do the job and although a pump that will handle 10% extra would be a good pump anything larger would be a waste --power consumption wise
I would not recommend a general hard ware shop for the pump until you know what capacity pump you need and then the hardware shop may have cheaper units than the pump shop

What height should the washer be at for proper draining

Hi,

Normally washers sit on the floor and are drained, by a 'bent pipe', either into their own waste pipe or into a shared sink system. The higher the waste pipe is the harder the drain pump has to work to push the water out. Normally this should not be a problem as the pump should be powerful enough for the task!
So- the answer really is that it is not the washer height which matters but the waste height- and even then not much!
Hope this answers your question.

Cheers,
John C

What is the typical vertical height that a washing can pump water

5 feet should work to pump out BUT the water left in the hose will drain back into the machine. It may, or may not hurt anything, but it may be enough to leave water reaching the inner tub. If that happens, the clothes will still be wet. You may end up having to put the washer onto a platform a foot or so off the floor. Try it first, it may be fine.

What is the vertical pumping capacity for a Maytag Neptune washer

I believe it can be done, but I dont think it is recommended by the manufacturer. if you are in a basement and that is your only option, the only suggestion I would have is to build a platform for the waher and dryer to sit on . It would have to be very sturdy. Maytag recommends that you install a wash tub or something of the sort and install a sump pump to pump the water into the drain.

I have a Kenmore Front loading washing machine. It's a year & 2 months old. I tried to use it and it sounds like all it's doing pumping out the water. It will not fill or spin. My husband and I put...

What height is your drain spout? The pipe should be about 3 feet up and then down into the sink or wall standpipe; there should be a water mark behind the machine Your pump pumps the waste water OVER this height. At present your drain pipe must be lying at floor level, which is not correct.

Water filing

Possible your outlet hose is at floor level; this must have a certain height, the height may be marked behind the machine. The hose should reach this height (approx 30 inches) from the floor level, and then go down into your wall outlet or whatever. The outlet pump pumps this water out over the height. Check this out.
