I downloaded Play On to play Hulu and You Tube, but it won't play them on my Archos 605 wi fi 30 G.

A couple things to note. First.
Make sure the files are the right format.
second, make sure they are in the music folder.
third... sometimes it won't read them. you can still play them here's how:

Go on your archos go to music, than at the bottom click on hard drive.... you can play everything there.... i recommend not synching it... but dragging and dropping them in by hand... i like doing things basic...

Yeah you need to go to the archos website and buy the cinema plug in (£14.99) if you want to play all. the only other option is to convert the avi files that you cant play. Also if you want to play any mpeg4 files and quite a few other files with different audio codecs you need the podcast plug in (again £14.99). This is the only way to be able to play everything on your archos without converting the files - it's a bit of a rip off as each set of plugins is specifically downloaded for a product key so you cant even get one from someone else - believe me I have tried for days to get them free!

what kind of problem? what type of video are you trying to play?

Ribbon on hard drive came loose, take out battery. remove 2 screws on inside of battery compartment (not the ones mounting the plastic frame) remove 2 screws on side of unit(not all four, tough to get back together if you do. take ribbon and reset it into hard drive first, then unit. slide battery back on and backcover, turn on, problem sould be sovled. If not, try again the ribbon is not seated. it took me 3 or 4 times, about half an hour, with jewlers phillips-head screwdriver. my Archoes was a 604 wi-fi but it shoud work pretty much the same on 404, 504, 604, 605, 705 605 wi-fi, and 705 wi-fi.

mine's just gone a similar way - made a playlist and saved it...all songs were playing ok up until then. When i went to play the playlist it told me that the file was corrupt then proceeded to tell me all 14000 songs were corrupt...just in the middle of an attempted repair!

This problem seems to occur when the device overheats. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but all my videos set at 720 by 480 wont play when the device is left running for a long period of time. The smaller video files, however, still play. I think it deals with the amount of system resources required for such files to play. If you turn the device off completely by going to menu, power, and turn off device, and leave it sit for 30 minutes, all files should play properly when you turn it back on.

As a suggestion, DO NOT leave your Archos powered on and on the dvr station. This causes the device to constantly run, and if you havent noticed the Archos operates at an extremely high temperature.

PLUG USB CORD IN AND GO TO THE SITE WWW.ARCHOS.COM AND REGISTER YOUR UNIT.

have you tried resetting the machine on the bottom their is a tiny hole put a reasonable sized safety pin through that you use for a babys nappy.I found this reset my archos!!!!

We called tech support and you fix it by doing a reset on the base of the device. We used a paperclip to push the button. Hope this helps!
