Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Officejet 7310 misses lines while printing, copying, etc

Someone has just replaced the cartridges in our office printer and now it misses a half inch strip of the page in rows about 2 inch's apart all the way down a page whilst printing black and white. Have run its self test features and alignment, and also reset the machine. The cartridges are advertised to work on this machine and are from the Print-Rite Pro-Eco Series range. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks

I have experienced the same problem. I thought I was running out of black ink, so went off and purchased the HP (very expensive) black and color cartridges, and I had my IT man clean the heads with Q tips, etc. and still the black (not the colour) when I print from my Outlook e.mail has faded unreadable print every other line all the way down the page. This is getting to ge a very expensive problem.

Turn off the unit.
Disconnect the Power Cable.
Open the rear access door.
Clean the rubber rollers with soft dampened clean clothes.
Let it dry for sometime.
Turn on the unit and see if it works.
If it doesn't work, your printer might have to be service.

Printer alignment --- documents are printing out missing half of every line. How do I repair?

Run the print align program from the HP led panel on the front of the printer. You can usually find this by scrolling through the setup screens.
One will say something like ALIGNMENT.

The printer will also run this exact same program each time a new HP ink cartridge is placed in the machine. Once the lines dashes and color lines are printed out. Their should be an image of a bird at the bottom.
One will look out of focus the other should be near perfect.

If this does not align the print heads the machine may need servicing.

You could try a new black ink cartridge to see if the old one is damaged or clogged.

Good luck!

Hp 7310 printing with color horizontal streaks across. parts of the artwork are fine, then strirated lines down whole page. changed cartridge color and b/w and says it's installed fine. test page is...

usually when there is a defect on printing out while you have changed the cartridges , you will need to consider changing the printheads of that printer.

Vertical lines (no printing) on copy

Make sure you have visited the HP web site for the OfficeJet 7310 (it's not the 10xi model, is it?)

Check out the page on troubleshooting copying problems.

See if your vertical lines issue is addressed on this page.

7310 Cartidge Change Issue

You can download the drivers and utility software for the Officejet 7310 from HP's site here or you can run a cleaning cycle from the front panel - select setup and cycle through the choices.

It sounds like you have a defective cartridge, most common with remanufactured cartridges. If it is an HP original you can check the two year warranty as shown here. If the HP oriinal cartrdige is defective and still in its warranty period you can return it to your dealer or contact HP for a replacement. If the cartrdige is a store brand or some other remanufactured cartridge contact your delaer for a replacement.

Printing is crooked on the page...otherwise prints beautifully

Sounds like the print head / ink cartridge is not seated all the way. Open the door and check it. It also may be the wrong print head / ink cartridge. If you replaced the print head / ink cartridge recently, you may have the wrong one for your device. If it is a off brand or refilled print head / ink cartridge it may be damaged or incorrectly identified.

Hp 7310

If the color cartridge doesn't print the color bars on the alignment page (either, redish pink, yellow or blue) then the alignment process will not finish. Same for the black. If the black cartridge is printing ok, then replace the color cartridge and try this again...
