Samsung X820 The STAR button on my keypad does not work. Everything else works perfectly. Can you help by telling me how to fix and if I have to open up the phone, I would need instructions on how to and the best way to do this. Cheers

Okay - i had exactly the same problem, except with the # key instead. It is quite easy to fix fortunately, and you don't even have to open up the phone.

The keypad is actually glued on to the frame of the phone, and is in two parts: the actual plastic keypad that you press, and then the part with the metal components underneath it. What is 99% likely to have happened, is that dust has gotten between the two contacts so you just need to pry open that part of the keypad and clean the contacts with a little bit of alcohol.

I think that start button is not in contact with the keypad sensor or may be the keypad s rubber lining has got cutted inside so just open your handset s panel and then check is there any loose contact with the keypad and try adjust it correctly ...
if the rubber lining of the keypad has got cutted then just replace the keypad with the new one this solves your problem ....
and also check the circuit board is there any obstacle between the keypad and the keypad sensor ...
if you are afraid of opening the handset then just contact the technician he will do it ...
this is a simple problem i think you can fix yourself ...
if you visit the technician also no problem it will not charge mush for this ....
