Nor I nor Samsung help desk nor an experienced Mac techie can get my Samsung SGH-D900 to work as a GPRS modem on a Mac Book. We can't find drivers that actually work. Have tried USB and Bluetooth. Nothing. Have tried various generic drivers. Have tried switching off 'send data packets' (or something like that) as one internet site suggested. No joy. Any ideas? Thanks.

FIRST OF OF ALL YOU HAVE TO CALL YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER TO ACTIVATE GPRS ON YOUR SIM CARD (YOUR NAME SUGGEST THAT YOU ARE FROM INDIA SO IF YOU HAVE AIRTEL SIM THEN DIAL *567# OR HAVE TATA DOCOMO SIM THEN DIAL *141# TO ACTIVATE GPRS BY YOURSELF.) AFTER GPRS ACTIVATION AGAIN CALL CUSTOMER CARE AND ASK THEM TO SEND SETTING ON YOUR DEVICE(IN AIRTEL SEND "MO" TO 543210 FOR TATA DOCOMO SEND "INTERNET" TO 52270) AFTER RECEIVING SETTING SET THEM AS DEFAULT SETTING. NOW OPEN YOUR BROWSER AND ENJOY SURFING AND DOWNLOADING. THANK FOR USING FIXYA
For you to be able to use internet on your phone. You first need to contact your mobile service provider and ask them to activate your phone's internet service. After this, they can easily send out the settings for your phone.. run the automatic settings setup message and viola! you should be able to get internet access. I hope this helps.
your phone serves as a modem already, just disable the built-in modem of your laptop. then if your phone comes with an installation CD like the nokia models, then you can set it up to be a modem for your laptop, but then you should know if your CP service provider are capable with this, like GPRS, HSDPA, and other wireless protocols. and last, you should have alot of loads for your CP, hehehehe
