You either have a non functioning Transcend drive which happens, or a non functioning counterfeit drive which also happens, alot. Also, these drive are susceptible to breakage if left in pockets, school bags , etc. Be sure to examine the metal plug end for starightness into the drive housing, if it at an awkward angle, you may well have broken the drive.
If you go to Control panel, system, device manager.
It should show up as an unrecognized device. Right click uninstall, then up top click on "actions" and select "scan for hardware changes". A dialog box will pop up asking if Windows should search for the latest driver- click "Yes, this time only"
If it is a driver issue, this should fix it up. If it will not do anything at all, you need to return your drive to the place you purchased for a refund.
the drivers might have been corrupted control panel admistrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll down to universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or ports(com&lpt)or communications port right click update driver hope this helps
It is a hardware error. Sync could not be established due to the malfunctioning drive clock generator, try formatting it on some other computer with VISTA OS. if not then its damaged and nothing cant be done.
its probably a virus trying formating on windows 98 or on linux based system may work for u also check when the pen drive isnt connected properly or the usb port or connection is loose it may say a read only pen drive due to slow speed connection of pen drive to computer
Open Device manager (the one that shows all system devices), open SYSTEM DEVICES.
There you will find unrecognized PCI device. Click update driver for it, then install automatically, the computer will scan all the folders for the driver and will install a correct one. Then, in SOUNDS AND DEVICES you will see HI-DEF unrecognized, update a driver in a similar manner. It may comeup with some error, but it should work.

Vista doesnt recognize all pen drives. only few like Sandisk, Transcend
etc get recognized. Even brands like kingston don't get recognized. so
to make them work install the driver for the pendrive. If you
specify the brand of your pen drive ..i will try to help out with a
