Question about GPS

3 Answers

I have a NAVMAN PIN570, this machine was replaced/repaired last year after the adaptor plug separated from the unit. It has been working fine for approx 12 months, but now the screen does not light up. I have checked the settings, they are selected to 'bright'. Do you have any ideas or do I have to send it back for repairs again? Rgds BARRY.

Dear Barry,
first you can try it to factory reset , may be it works after reset .if its not working after that ,then i will suggest you to please contact to authorised service centre to rectify this problem .

for reset this:
1- Turn off unit.
2- press and hold the bottom right corner of the screen.
3-While still pressing and holding bottom right corner, press and hold power button and continue holding both until a white screen appears with a black dot.
4- follow the on screen directions and your unit will be back to the day you first got it.

Cheerup and be happy always

There is a backlight setting within SETTINGS on the pin 570 . You can
alter turn on /turn off times, battery power & external power and
adjust power settings to conserve power at the bottom of the screen.
Dont know if any of these settings may contribute to your problem
    ,maybe worth a look

If this doesnt work then its worth buying a new piece rather then spending money on repair.

Hi - I have a navman N254 which has been working fine for about a year but lately when turned on it will not move from the navman beyond navigation screen - please help!

When navigation systems start malfunctioning displaying such symptoms it is a sign that the firmware or OS on the unit has gotten corrupt and therefore cannot load up properly to ensure an acceptable functioning system. The best way to solve this problem is usually by removing the memory unit on the navman and install a fresh program on it just like when performing ad update or system repair. This could wipe of most of your previous information so it is adviced a backup is created before the process.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Won't Charge

You need to change the battery. It is not a fun thing to do. Do a word search for Navman PIn 570 Replacement battery either on Google or Ebay. You have to disassemble the unit to get to the battery that is taped to the unit's motherboard. There are hidden screws on the back of the unit, then you have to gently pry the 2 halves off. Big Heads up here: the round dial on the left side...be sure to tape that in place when you first disassemble the unit, otherwise it falls out into 2 or three pieces...that dial is a pain to get back together if you do not tape it.

I recently replaced the battery on my unit. There are two additional screws on the back of the unit, near the bottom in addition 2 screws under the flip up antenna. They are covered by small black plastic discs which need to be pried off first. After removing the rear cover with a knife edge (or similar) there are several other screws which attach the circuit board to the front of the unit which need to be removed. Note that the one near the edge should only be loosened, and the board slid out sideways. Once this has been done you should be able to access the battery which needs to be pried off the board, as it is attached with an adhesive patch.

(If the battery is totally dead it takes about a day before the charge led starts flashing.)

Inspiron laptop Battery won't charge

Try taking out battery and plug in power. If it works, battery is faulty. If not,
Try taking out your hard disk plug in power, if it works, hard disk is faulty. If not,
Try taking out memory card, if there's a sound, memory card faulty. If no sound, it's your motherboard that is causing the error.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.

Problem with navman 4150 fish finder

I installed my Navman 4150 depth finder along with the Navman GPS unit when I purchased my Bayliner Trophy 20Ft. Offshore model. Everything was ok for one year and it has been downhill since then. Losing signal, unbelievable high depth ranges, blank periods, etc.. I now can't even get a reading tieded up at the dock. I am now giving up and shoping for a quality unit.. Cape Disappointment.........

Navman Pin570 battery replacement

There are 2 little black tabs at the botton of the back that you have to remove, behind these there are 2 screws u remove, and flip the ariel up and there are 2 screws under there you remove also.

The body is clicked together use a guitar pick, ur fingernails or small scewdriver to seperate the 2 sections.

Inside you will see a few screws holding the systemboard down, if need unscrew them.

you will see the battery its stuck onto the system board... be carefull seperating it,.. use a flat intrument or a butter knife to work it of the board ( its stuck on with double-sided tape or some kind of silicon)..

unplug it,

plug your new battery in.. BONGO

Let me know how you go.

cheers
plato

Put it all back together again
