I have a ADF-242 that is having sound output problems

I have a ADF-242 4 channel amp that i bridged for my one 4ohm,svc,15inch sub. everything was connected properly, worked fine for the little time that i had messed with it.came out the next day to start car and heard a long continues baseline coming from speaker, so i turned car off and then back on and i didn't hear nothing from speaker, the green light is still on the amp. I checked again and you can hear a low sound coming from the speaker as if it was blown. but i checked the speaker on another amp and it was fine. what could be causing this problem from the amp.

If the car was running when testing sub and heard noise this could be engine noise and an inline filter would cure that problem and also have a good ground no more than 15 inches away from the amp.And good metal contact for ground.

How to wire a crossfire vr602 2 channel amp at 4ohm and 2ohm

I would be more worried about the amp than the speakers, those subs should handle the watts with no problem. The problem will be in the amps ability to remain working with a bridged 2 ohm load. It may not even stay on without going into protect mode with a 2 ohm load. If it does stay on then it may get really hot and shut off from the heat off of the Mosfett Transistors, or it could burn the Mosfetts from driving them too hard. Basically it's your choice, run your amp hard and gain more volume or run it with slightly less sound and have a cleaner sounding more stable amp that will stay on and have less chance of being damaged. If it's not loud enough the best thing to do is buy a different amp that better suits your needs and fits the application. In your case a 2 ohm stable Mono amp is going to be your best bet or a 4 channel amp bridged into 2 channels and run with 4 ohms on each channel. Or another exact matching amp like your 2 channel amp bridge them both and have each powering 1 of your 4 ohm subs. I used two VR mono amps to power my two 12" 4 ohm subs for a few years

How do I wire up my 4subs in bridged to my peace 2600

Hi,

Please state the subs impedance, but assuming 4 subs with 8Ohm Voice Coil you CAN'T run them in parallel in Bridge Mono because this amp's minimum impedance is 4Ohm in bridge and 2Ohm stereo, maybe a series/parallel connection work, but what's the advantage to run them in Bridge mode? This amp delivers 900W per channel at 4Ohm, you can run a pair paralleled for each channel in a safe way and without the high-risk of your amp being destroyed, besides, amp power at 4Ohm Bridged is NOT recommended for continuous use, let me know your results...

Hi, I want to know what is the best way to wire these subs. (Pair). I have heard of several ways. I have a 4 channel amp the soundstream picasso 4.760. Bridged it produces the most power. I was told...

Hello , I will be glad to help you.As far as your speakers..It depends on what impedance your subs are rated and if your Picasso amp can be bridged at 4ohm or 8ohm. If your subs are 8ohm each you can wire your subs in parallel and wire them to picasso amp in bridged mode. If your subs are 4ohm each. Then wire the subs in series then wire them to amp in bridged mode..caution do not wire subs in parallel if they are 4ohm .This would bring impedance to about 2 ohms and would be harsh for amp to handle...Goodluck

I have 1 audio bahn eternal series awes15p 15inch subwoofer.I'm having problems hooking it in my vehicle,I don't have the wiring manual.I would appreciate if you can tell me or give me a...

There are some things to think about when you install this.

1. Is the sub a dual or single voice coil?
2. What ohms are the voice coils?
3. Is your amp 2 channel or mono?
4. What are the ohms loads allowed by your amp?

I am going to assume your sub is dual 4 ohm and you want to get as much power out of your amp as you can. I am also assuming the amp is a mono channel amp. (if it's a two channel amp, you can bridge the channels)

Go from the positive of your amp and wire to both positives of the voice coils. Then go from the negative of the amp to the negative of both voice coils. You will have 2 sets of wires to your sub. This is called a parallel set up. This drops the load of one dual 4ohm sub to a 2 ohm load. The lower the resisitance, the more power is able to flow from your amp, giving your more sound. Make sure your amp is 2 ohm stable.

Hope this helps

Can i power 2 12 subs a rockford punch z and a xplode with this amp i found all this **** in my garage and i need to know if it will power all this

First of all. Using two different kinds of sub woofers, is not an option, as these two sub woofers have different specifications and you should never mix sub woofers. Now the better choice from the 2, would probably be the Rockford. (cant be sure without knowing the models, power handling is also a factor in how well either of the sub woofers will play, but Rockford as a rule makes better sub woofers than Sony does) In my opinion, both the sub woofers deserve a better amplifier than what Boss has to offer. However to connect either of these sub woofers, you would need to determine how many voice coils it has and how many OHM the voice coil/s are. If it is a DVC (dual voice coil) and each voice coil is 4 OHM or 2 OHM, then you can connect one voice coil to one channel of the amplifier and the other voice coil to the other channel of the amplifier. If it is a DVC 2OHM you can also connect it wired in Series/Series to give a 4OHM load and should be connected to the BRIDGE dedicated speaker outputs of your amplifier. If it is a SVC (single voice coil) and it is 4 OHM, then you can connect the sub woofer to the designated speaker outputs of your amplifier that states BRIDGE. DO NOT run the amplifier in BRIDGE mode at 2 OHM as this will probably damage the amplifier. dreamsystems

I got two 12'' 800rms subs n a powerbass asa600.2 class a/b amp i need to kno the best wiring diagram... subs are dvc 4ohm & the amp is 4ohm 2ohm & can be bridged to 1 channel..

Use good quality wires-- the cost is the factor for high connectivity with low resistance- You can bridge the two sub's in parallel to the 2 ohms output of the amp. Please be careful to see the likeness of polarity of the subs to the amp. or lese you will get a phase difference resulting in poor low frequncy.

It has an A and B channel for spkrs and i have one spkr bridged. do i split the neg to side a and pos to side b or just use one of the channels?

Could you elaborate on how the speaker is bridged?

I think you want to hook up a single speaker to a stereo speaker output.

In this case, you would strap (bridge?) the right and left speaker terminals by running a short wire from A right negative to A left negative. Then strap A right positive to A left positive -- this will give you mono output on either of the right or left speaker terminals -- connect your speaker to either one of these.

Do you know what the ohm rating is for the speaker outs on the amp and also the speaker itself?

What is the best way to connect 4 speakers and a sub to a 4 channel amp.

I would connect the 4 speakers to channels 1-2 in stereo with high pass filter. Bridge the sub to channels 3-4.

Ok.. Bridge the two sub into 4ohm than bridge to amp.

So. this how it goes.

sub1 + -

sub2 - +
=      4ohm

           From Sub
                Two
            -          +
            |           |
amp (L) - + (R)- +

This will use the full potiental of RF 800a2 amp. I believe it like 1153 watts max out.
