Question about Zanussi Washing Machines
Problem with Zanussi ZWD1627OW:
On a wash cycle the door locks and cycle starts for about 10 seconds, but then it stops, the door unlocks and the start button flashes - almost as it it assumes the cycle has finished. The drying function works fine though, and it was a drying function that we used before the problem started. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks

...most likely the balance sensor, a small contact switch behind the main control panel that is telling the machine it is out of balance, more likely the switch and/or contacts have corroded...

More likely the PCB needs replacing - common fault, you could try a new door switch first cost £5 new PCB £65+ but is easy to replace.

I had the same problem about a year ago, I replaced the door switch but didn't fix it, I found the brushes in the motor has worn out - Replaced the brushes and fixed the problem.
