Ive bought a pioneer system and although it worked on my VW Golf ive recently changed my car to a Fiat Punto. Ive tried attaching the wires but the system doesnt seem to work. I also didnt fit the pioneer system to my Golf because my friend connected that for me. What wires need connecting? would it be possible to get a detailed answer? Many thanks

First I would check to make sure you have the proper fuel pressure at the pump - you should have 2 pumps - one that delivers from the tank, and a high pressure pump for the injectors. Make sure that both are delivering properly - you may need to prime the pumps for quite some time if air got into the lines. Also make sure the cam / crank sensors wiring has no corrosion and is making proper contact. Between 0 to 300/400rpm the signal can be slightly erratic until the engine is started so I would not worry too much about that.
I am having the exact same problem with my vauxhall corsa and my pioneer deh-6000ub its so annoying it works with the manufacture stereo soon as i connect my pioneer in it doesn't come alive (the HCB-400)
remember ,your new car is ITALIAN ,while PIONEER is a JAPANESE brand . ITALY is WEST while JAPAN is east and these two directions do not meet easily .
THERE IS AN INTERCONNECTOR ADAPTOR SOLD SEPERATELY WHICH WILL MAKE THESE TWO COMPATIBLE.
Fixing these two together will make your job easier and comfortable .
