Take out the SD card. Look on the side of the card for the slide switch. Make sure that it is in the unlocked position. The switch is on the left side (without the notch). The locked position puts the switch further from the pins on the end of the card that is inserted into the device. On some cards, as the card ages, the switch can slide just from the force of inserting the card in the slot. If the lock switch is in the unlocked position or it's locking just in handling, replace the card. The memory or the card has probably been damaged.
In some cases, you can force the broken switch to stay in the unlocked position with some glue/tape. Use tweezers to move the switch to the desired position. (However, you need to ensure that you don't break the card in handling and that the fix doesn't make the card too thick to fit into the card reader/slot.) This switch is similar to the lock switch on old 3.5" floppies. The fix is like fixing cassette tapes or 5 1/4" floppies that were made read only.
Step 1: Check the sim tray or sim seater to see if it it broken, if it is, replace it Step 2: If the sim seater/tray is not broken, clean the entire terminal. Step 3: If the sim seater/tray is not directly on the board, trace the broken led and solder it, or you replace the broken led with another sim tray. Step 4: If it is still not working, change the battery and put a new battery, because a virus infected battery will always give such problem. Step 5: Finally, if the problem still persist, then check the sim card and replace with another sim card if the former is bad because a bad sim card will always display such message as insert sim card or sim card error.
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge.
The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Is it physically stuck in the camera or there is a message stating that the card is locked?
A locked SD card can be unlocked by sliding the tab on the long edge to the opposite (unlocked) position as shown below: Reinsert into the camera & try again.
the problem could be multiple things:
1. it's switched into card mode... without a cord
2. the card is locked, this can be fixed by retrieving the card from the camera, then pushing the lock switch down away from the word "lock" (the opposite direction of the tiny little arrow)
3. THe card is corrupted, for this there really is no fix, sorry.
hope this helped- snowsurfer58
My guess is that the card is locked. There is a small lock on the side of the card that can sometimes accidentally slide to the lock position. Try checking this and see if this fixes your problem.
