Hi there. Try to remove and reseat your video card first... maybe there's nothing wrong with it actually...

But if you check the on-screen display, like the brightness controls in your lcd monitor blinking... then you need to have it repaired or replaced.

Hope I gave you an Idea.. ^_^

MICROTEK C997SD MONITOR SHUTS OFF AFTER 5-10 MINUTES

If you turn your monitor on and when its on you go into your computers settings. Where you can fix your monitor and fix the resolution and all that. There should be a thing there where you can put never shut off. You have it on 5 to 10 minutes to shut off. That will keep the monitor from turning off again. I did this with mine it kept shutting off to. Thanks for posting I hope this helps you. I am sorry I couldn't be more detailed. i have been up all night lol.

I have a Microtek 17 in monitor and recently it has started to flicker badly when switch on after a couple of minutes it settles down to normal. Can you offer any comments re fixing this problem? Many...

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

MicroTek LCD Monitor

Sounds like it might be getting too hot and/or going bad. Not sure how to diagnose this without seeing it myself. That is the best that I can do. Your video card could be going bad. Try another video card on that monitor. This will be the only way to decide if it is the card or monitor.
