Nope...LCD screens on camcorders, cell phones, etc., can not be fixed.
And being that small LCD screens are part of small electronic devices,
they are not modular (removable).
Not all HD is alike. The sensor size on the Flip is quite small and thus, the HD quality on the Flip will be less than on a larger HD video camera.
If you suspect there may be something wrong with your quality, the best thing to do is to go on websites like Flickr.com and Vimeo.com and look for videos done with the same model you have in similar lighting conditions. If the quality of other users' video is better than yours, there may be something wrong with your sensor, in which case, you will need to contact Flip's customer support to have your camera repaired or replaced.

They aren't too hard to open up and take apart. There's a glass piece the covers the actual lens and I'm guessing that is what broke. Once the flip is in pieces you can remove the glass piece and it will operate fine without it. If you want to replace it, you can either get a broken flip and use it for parts, but there's a pretty sticky, tough ring of tape holding that glass piece in place. You could also try a very clear piece of plexiglass and cut it to size. Haven't tried that one myself, but it may work.
Did you find a solution? My DMC FT1 has also just cracked it exterior lens cover. Ive'removed it an dit takes fine pics still now, but it ain't gonna be waterproof at the moment!
The tech support number is 415.445.7626 and then option 2. I just spoke with Kevin, the floor supervisor and he was less than helpful. My brand new minoHD simply won't work--not very impressed with this camera, and I hope Cisco hasn't made a huge mistake...
