Try to clean the contacts on the battery door. I used an erraisor lightly on the contacts... also try photo NMHI batterys they are for cameras... they hold more power then regular batteries...and last resort remove batteries for 6 min .. this is called a hard reset if that don't work than take it back to the place where you purchased..lens error message very seldon ever get fixed.
by the way you can download the manual..

Error on nikon d 70s

I occasionally get an ERR on my D-90 and it seems to happen for different reasons. Sometimes, it's kinda hard to figure out and it's hard to clear as well. One way I get it, is if I try to shoot without the SD card installed. I've also gotten it when I've been in manual mode and the settings were so far off that the camera could not function as set. So far, I've always been able to clear the ERR by turning the camera on and off if nothing else works.

I went to the D-90 manual and could find nothing about error messages nor could I find any reference to error messages in the table of contents. I happened upon what Nikon calls a Q&A index in the front of the book before the main index. Down in the list of questions, there was one which said "What do these warnings mean?" then a box which said error message and a reference to page 255 in the back of the book. I went to page 255 it showed a multitude of messages of different types but only one ERR.

The explanation was that this indicated a "camera malfunction" and to clear it, you are supposed to release the shutter. In the next box, it said that if this condition persists or occurs frequently you should contact Nikon Tech support.

Interestingly, when I get this message, the shutter will not release and I have to turn the camera off to make it release. When I turn it off and back on the error message has clear.

I hope this information helps with your D-70.

Incidentally, I've found the people at Nikon tech support to be very friendly and helpful.

My name is Madhu. I use the camera Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi. When the inbuilt FLASH is on then a message pop up as "busy now", when i tried to click the camera to take a photo then...

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Thank you

R05 problem using d70, camera will not take a photo in autofocus

It is actually an error message generated by your compact flash and means that the card is no longer readable. A lot of D70 owners have reported this error without being able to find another solution other than reinserting the card or changing the card to a different brand. You could also try cleaning out the memory card slot and check to see that all pins are aligned and not bent.
Good Luck,
Jeff

Nikon d-90 keeps reading out 'err'

The "ERR" error message is a sequence failure and most common problems are shutter, aperture control or sequence motor drive system. When the problem repeats frequently, it will increase until total camera failure. Cameras in need of epairs should be sent to a Nikon Authorized Service Center like Southern Photo in Miami. Lots of repair information on all types of cameras can be found at http://blog.sp-ts.com so check it out for more repair information.

Err 05

In my case, I borrowed a camera and when I got it back, err 05 appears. I've located a bit of old orange juice which sticked one of the sensors - you can see the sensors when flash is popped out.

Nikon D100 randomly has "err" code flashing

You need a new shutter box.
It may be worth cleaning the contacts on both camera and lens.
Clean the contacts in the lens mount using a fiberglass "pencil" designed specifically for cleaning contacts. These are available at just about any photo supply store/firm.

send it to nikon. seem like a common problem
