Question about Canon PIXMA MP180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Hi there, I have a Canon PIXMA MP180. When I bought the machine, I used the genuine Canon printer cartridges (black PG40 and colour PG41) until they were about 50% empty, then refilled them myself with a compatible ink. I have refilled them twice, never letting the ink run out first, as I have had previous problems with dried ink in other printers (not good!!).
I was told that by refilling them myself, that the chips on the cartridge would always tell the computer that the ink was low, however I would still be able to print. I have, up until now, been able to do that.
Now the printer is giving me the error code U041, meaning that both cartridges are completely out of ink (I manually switched to just using the black, but now can't use either). However I know that both cartridges would be at least 70% full.
My question is this, can I reset or manually switch off the ink counter in the printer or from the computer?? I can't use the printer until I do this, otherwise my only other option is to buy brand new cartridges (which I was trying to avoid in the first place!).
I would appreciate ANY advice which you could offer! Many, many thanks, Bianca.
