Blue vertical lines

Hi, I am sorry you are having issues with your graphics card.

Yes the oven trick does work but it is only temporary and you will have to do that process over and over until the card just all out quits responding. Once a GPU begins to display multicolored or blue lines across the monitor its time to put it out to pasture so to speak.

Can you hook a MSI NX 8600GTS to a VGA monitor using a DVI to VGA adapter.

Yes you can find these adapters for $5-$10 bucks on ebay, or $10-$20 retail. Im currently running my server with a DVI to VGA connector.***Beware of the dvi or hdmi to vga cables, those are fake.*** It needs to be a little adapter or a converter box.

I have a local built Computer that has a gigabyte s-series GA-EP45_DS3R mother board with an Intel core2 Quad processor., it has a MSI NX8800GTS Graphics card. it is running windows 7 and when booted up...

No, the video card is failing and you will have to replace it. The lines disappear in Safe Mode because in there the video chip is essentially bypassed since its driver isn't loaded.
