Hi,
I have a Philips LX3000 D home theater system. The DVD player has stopped working but I got a replacement when I bought flat screen LCD TV so I am now just using it as a surround system.
I have managed to get it set up so that it plays sound from my new DVD, Xbox360 and the TV. But, I can not adjust the volume as the remote has stopped working. I have tried changing the batteries and have tried to use the remote from all over the room incase it was a reflection or something.
Do I need to buy a new remote? or can I buy a universal remote (if so please can you recommend one that is easy enough for my mum to use when I move out).
If it helps the items in our setup are;
Philips LX3000 D
Toshiba 32WLT66 LCD TV
Toshiba SD-160SB
I think that my frontpanel ir -sensor does not work. I have tested it for many remote controls, universal and similar. DVD's lags and remote does not work. All other works correctly.
The remote control might be damaged. If it is possible to arrange a new remote for testing, do it. volume control of LX3000D works from the front PCB. check the front PCB is perfectly ok or not. Regarding the DVD player, what it says when you try to load a disk?
