I would like to download pictures from my Sony DSC-S85 to my Sony laptop running Vista. The Sony eSupport site says: The drivers needed to connect most Sony® cameras and camcorders to a computer are already included in the Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems. With these drivers, you should be able to connect and transfer files to a computer. How do I access those drivers?

Device driver dsc-s85

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I undertstand from the Sony site that the drivers needed to connect most Sony® cameras and camcorders to a computer are already included in the Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems. With these drivers, you should be able to connect and transfer files to a computer.
Note: If the your camera or camcorder is not recognized by the computer when connected, you may need an updated driver.

Have recently upgraded to windows vista now our sony dsc-5730 either freezes or takes a long time to upload pictures onto computer

Go here and download the latest driver for DSC-S730 for your OS:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DSC-S730&region_id=1

Next, uninstall the older driver through the Control Panel and reboot PC. Now install the newly downloaded driver and see if that resolves the issue.

Sony cyber-shot dsc-s30 and vista

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?news_id=149

According to Sony's own site (see link), the DSC-S30 is non-compatible. Operation with the Microsoft® Windows Vista operating system is not guaranteed.
It's up to you if you still want to try.

Couldn't find a driver for you, sorry.
Good Luck
