Green screen My Sony KP-57HW40 television is giving me trouble. When I turn my tv on, the picture starts to turn a bit green, then starts to blink a bit, then the screen turns bright green, then turns black, then turns off. This all happens in a one minute period. We purchased this television in July 2002. Paid over $3000. Any advise will be appreciated. Worth fixing?
Green bulb comes on then red and blue. Picture normal for 10 seconds. Green light golws bright and red andd blue turn off then Green goes off and screen is dark. still have sound. Has anyone tried replacing the "green crt" as suggested?
If so...did it fix the problem ?

Thats the error for having a issue with the +5V which can be caused by either the A board or the B Board with the B board being the most likliest cause.
or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp. the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.
FIVE Blinks---AKB circuit (AKB), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about
30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with
the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C
board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking,
try turning up screen slightly.
