Downloading RCA music management software (to use my new MP3 player) onto a HP PC that operates on Windows Vista. I'm told the software needs a Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or higher --- after trying to download the service pack is not compatible.... searched for Windows Vista form of service pack and as it's a patch, it cannot be downloaded without base software..... what am I missing? What do I need to do to finally use my MP3???? Thanks, Evon Hanson [email protected]

SOURCE: RCA mp3 player software won't install on my computer.

Vista isn't supported by RCA at this time.  Vista is junk, unfortunately (might get better next year when the first Service Pack gets past the Release Candidate phase).

That's why lots of folks "downgrade" to XP or just get a Mac (I've done both!)

You don't need the installer- Windows Media Player will find the device, then click on "Sync" at the top to download the music to your player.

SOURCE: Is it possible to download music to the Philips GOGEAR MP3 4gb player WITHOUT windows xp?

You would have to go on the site and download the software for Windows 2000 ( I saw they have a version for Philips Manager for other versions of Windows)

Need software

For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

  • You will need USB cable .
  • It will be provided with your mp3 player.
  • Connect your RCA MP3 player to your computer with the USB cable that came with the player. Plug one end into the Opal player and plug the other end into your computer's USB port.
  • Open the Rca's USB flash drive. Click "Start." Click "My Computer." Click the "USB Mass Storage Drive."
  • Open another "My Computer" window, and locate the music that you wish to download onto your RCA MP3 player. Click "Start." Click "My Computer." Click "My Documents." Click "My Music."
  • Drag and drop the music files you wish to download onto your mp3 player's "Internal Storage" folder (for Windows Vista) or the "Media" folder (for Windows XP).

  • Enjoy the songs....

I do not know how to download music from my windows media player to my new RCA m4304 mp3

Try using Windows Media Player. It is so much easier to use than the software that came with the player. Just make sure you have the most up to date version for your operating system. I run Windows XP, so mine was version 10. Windows Vista and Windows 7 usually run version 11. The miscrosoft website can help you determine which version is right for you.

How do i put songs onto my mp3 player?

    Hello jaclyn22,

There are two ways to transfer files to your RCA Peal TH1101 MP3 player. You can either use a MP3 manager software application (such as Rhapsody or Yahoo! Music Jukebox, which is included on the CD that comes with the player) or you can simply drag and drop MP3 files from your computer's hard drive into the player using Windows Explorer.

The advantage of MP3 management software is that it allows you to organize your music collection, create playlists and purchase and download new music.

The procedure for how to use these methods to load music onto the player can be found on pages 10-11 of the user manual. If you need a copy of the manual you can download it from this link to the RCA website: http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/images/buttons/media_icon_pdf.png

    Best regards,
