Software Problems I haven't found a post anywhere for this particular issue and hope someone out there can help me out. I have done everything necessary to install the software, updates for drivers, even contacted CyberLink about their PowerCinema NE for Everio. I keep getting error messages about an abnormal program termination and something about the MS Visual C++ Runtime Library error. Has anyone come across this issue? I have tried everything I could and the software still does not work. I really need to transfer about 10GBs of video from the camera before I lose them and get my money back for this stupid camera.

I have many years repairing Canon scanners so I hope my suggestion helps you out.
In my experience with the problem your having I have found that the bios needs to be flashed on the particular model scanner you have. You will need to contact your local canon dealer to have this done because they have diagnostic software to do this with. Also they can run the diagnostic software to tell if there are any other issues that need to be addressed on your scanner while they are there.
Go to dell.com/support inter the service tag number and tell it to search for your drivers. Also update the BIOS after all updates are done restart your computer to insure the system updates.
You should try resetting the BIOS back to default - if I remember correctly, the Dells of that time had that option in the BIOS. If you still have issues, it may be a coincidence that the drive encountered problems at the same time as when you changed that setting. The software settings you picked in Windows shouldn't affect the drive being seen in the BIOS.
