I assume you've checked for blockages and that there's a useful length of bristles on the brush roll. Turn the machine over, and just behind the brush you will see a short length of clear plastic tubing with spiral reinforcing. That tube often splits, so there's an air leak and consequent loss of suction at the brush. A split may not be immediately obvious - to get the tube off, pull it off from the motor end and then unscrew it at the brush end. As a temporary measure you can cover a split with tape, but the tube undergoes so much flexing that tape is rarely effective for very long. A new hose (it's called the internal hose) is not expensive and is the only permanent solution.
If the internal hose is not split, post a reply here and we'll see what else we can think of. Good luck!

Why does my eureka air speed vacuum not work when in floor mode?

There is an adjustment for carpet and for hard surfaces. Have switched it from carpet to a hard surface. When on carpet it sets up higher on a hard surface it should set lower. If it is to low it work properly either.

Changed hose on carpet cleaner and it wont pick up the water

If you are unable to pick up water from the carpet after using the hose attachment, is is usually due to one of two reasons.
1 - The duct on the front of the dirty water tank has not been put back in place after using the hose. It is a square plastic piece about the size of a slice of sandwich bread.
2 - The lid is not properly seated on the tank. Be sure to hook the two tabs on the front edge in place before hooking the latch at the rear. This also applies when using the hose.

My kirby shampooer doesnt seem to be placing foam on the floor like it should and it's not picking up any at all

Mine did that once and we were missing the filter part on the end of the shampoo hose attachment.fits on the end of the hose. Bought a new one at the Kirby store for cheap. It looks like a filter screen and without it just seems to soak the carpet without foaming up or cleaning it very well.

Vacuum not picking up dirt

The neck in your power head is likely clogged. Disconnect from the wand and look inside. Also check the wand.Since you have suction on the bare floor the hose is likely not blocked.

The vacuum cleaner does not pick up anything from carpet. It does not even pick up pieces of thread laying on carpet. On tile floors it blows dirt away instead of picking it up. I've tried all the settings...

Sounds like there is a clog..

Usually its in the hose - look closely.. Stretch the hose out straight and look in there good..

Or a clog could be in the vac close to where the hose conects to the vac on either end..

This is most case scenario with these types of vacs..

I hope this helps !!
Please rate me good ;o)

The brush does not spin when making contact with carpeting

I tried the electrical-tape-around-the-wooden-spindle technique. After a minute or so, it's back to functioning normally.

No suction in carpet cleaning mode with Empower

Check the nozzle . Turn it over on it's belly and remove the 4 screws that hold the base plate on. Take off the plate and remove the brushroll. I bet you will see a clog in the intake. If not take it to your local vac shop and let them fix it.
