Ignitor does not click

there is no "ignitor" as you would find in an oven or dryer. There is a sparkmodule that many times goes bad after 5 to 8 years. It is a plastic box about 4 to 6 " x 2" wide and wil have 3 to 5 wires or 3 to 5 terminal connector points on it. remember to unplug the range top fromwall electric. these units are not difficult to replace; they are not repairable, you have to buy a new one.

The oven will not heat, but the broiler does work.

Just because it glows that does not mean it is not bad...
The ignitor is not working right and is going bad....
have the repair man replace the ignitor, or DIY....

Ge model jgp326 ignitor is giving

you either have a bad licon switch on one of the burner valves or you got water or cleaner in one of the switches.. Unplug it and let it dry for a few days, if it does not work you need a new switch.

The igniter on the right front burner of my GE Gas cooktop does not work....I must use a lighter or match to ignite....What can I do? There is no clicking sound when I turn on the burner?

the very first thing i would do here is to check the ignitor itself
under the head cap you should see two screws, once those are out you will be able to lift the burner plate, lift the burner plate, you will see, or should see the ignitor, and the wire.
i check this for voltage by unplugging the ignitor and olding the wire close to a ground, the metal body is good. Turn on the ignitor, becareful it is live. yhou shgould see a spark comming from the wire
if not check to make sure that wire is in position and on the spark module
if you do see a spark this way, just order the replacement ignitor
and install it when it arrives

The oven for my G.E. gas stove takes forever to reach 350 deg.

Here are the common causes.

1. First check that the bake and broil burners/ignitors are working. If not, you may have a bad ignitor.

2. If #1 is ok, then the burners must be short cycling, that is, they are ON for too short a time then OFF again.

#2 can be caused by either a bad temperature sensor or a failure in the control board.

The temperature sensor needs to be checked by disconnecting and measuring it's resistance.

If the sensor is good, then the problem is in the control board. We repair this particular problem with the controller quite often. If you want, I can have a look at it for you, if you can have it removed and sent to us.

You have a bad ignitor which will have to be replaced. Unplug one ignitor at a time until you find the faulty one.

It is sparking because the module does not sense the heat which would normally cause the sparking to stop.

It can be caused by a poor ground, make sure the ignitor at that burner is clean and free from any obstructions. If it is then it could either be a defective ignitor or spark module.
