I suggest to check connections. if you are using component cables and one of the cables has been disconnected then it could pose this problem

Poor picture no color

OUCH! LARGE DARK SPOT IN CENTER IS NOT GOOD FOR PROJECTION TV. YOU BURNT THE TUBES. THE LOSS OF COLOR IS THE ROOT CAUSE SOUNDS LIKE A DEFLECTION CIRCUIT PROBLEM. THE TIMING FEEDBACK IS USED TO SYNC THE COLOR CIRCUIT. IF THE TUBES LIGHT WITHOUT DEFLECTION THEY BURN THE CENTER PHOSPHOR COATING INSIDE.

Screen keeps losing colour and ends up with a blue tint

On this model there tend to be two problems. One is that the power supply capacitors fail early and often. While this typically caused no power or slow power-on, it can cause other issues as well.

Loss of color typically means the 'Main Scaler board', which is the main board where all the inputs are attached, is having an issue.

There are some problems reported with a faulty crystal on the board causing loss of color, although most techs would just swap the board as these TVs are meant to be serviced at the board level, not the component level.

I assume that this loss of color happens on any input source, including when using the internal setup menu of the TV? This would help to confirm that the loss of color is not related to a faulty input signal caused by a bad cable.

DVD player only plays in black and white on Soniq 42'' Plasma TV. (Have tried 3 different players all have the same problem)

The color loss is most likely due to a NTSC/PAL compatibility issue. If you bought the players overseas in a PAL region (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0d/PAL-NTSC-SECAM.svg) and the TV is NTSC or vice-versa, there will be a color loss. Thiss because the different regions have different formats and when you go from one to the other, the color does no transfer over. You can buy a PAL to NTSC or NTSC to PAL converter to fix this issue.

TV COLOR WENT BROWN IN COLOR

It could not be the playstation that would cause the fault. The set was probably going to fail anyways.

A brown casted picture sounds like there is a loss of the blue colour drive in the set.

Some TV sets have colour temperature adjustments in the user menu. Check to see if your TV has that option, and that the colour temperature is properly set up. You can refer to the TV's instruction booklet for details.

A loss of blue drive can be from failed components in the video path, or in the bias circuits that control the CRT's cathold current.

It is also possible that the CRT is going defective, and is losing emission from the blue colour electron-gun.

You will have to bring the set to a service center that has an experienced TV tech who can make proper diagnostics, and give you an estimate for the cost of repair.
