There is only 1 BIOS update for this motherboard from HP. It is only for Windows XP. Here is the link: Pavillion 1440n BIOS update

I have hp pavillion DV6-6c35dx black screen with caps lock blinking twice to indicate corrupted bios. How do I flash the bios on this laptop?

If that computer wont boot to a screen that you can recognize, it is a brick. When the bios is corrupted and it wont allow the machine to start you cannot access any screens that will allow you to recover. It takes special equipment to flash the BIOS when this happens and most places just replace the whole motherboard because this equipment is not used often by repair shops.

You may be able to rescue it with a Bios flash, but it sounds like your motherboard died.

My HP pavillion ze4805us system speed keeps changing from 509mhz to 2.12 ghz, why does it do this?

Most laptops vary teh speed of the porcessor as needed, as a power saving measure. Less speed uses less power.

When the laptop is idle it drops the speed and increases as more is needed.

Battery location

hmmm..those are truly hard to find, the clips...

also, the bios password can be accessed on startup by using F2, then you'll see that option inside the bios setup.

those batteries are usually inside, under the bottom plastic panel. some others are under the palm rest, either way, you need to open up the whole unit.
