The soap dispenser only closes after several tries. At the end of the cycle, the soap is wet and stuck in the open dispenser

May want to try liquid detergent instead. Sometimes using too much detergent will prevent the dispenser from opening and then the soap turns into a wet glob in the dispenser.

Silly question - where do you add the detergent?

Often you will find the detergent dispenser very close to the dispenser for the softener. Mine is a separate container within the same "pullout" drawer that holds fabric softener. If you still are not sure, then find the model number of your washer and google it with the term, "user manual". Most are available online as a PDF

Ge potscrubber 700 dishwasher - the soap dispenser cover is locked and will not open. I have run the dishwasher several times and tried to force it but it will not budge. any suggestions?

Soap dispenser cover will not open until front knob is at 4:30 or 5 o'clock. Turn knob to 5 o'clock and jiggle dispenser cover. If cover still does not open, is detergent caked such that door won't open? If yes, remove caked detergent. If no, disconnect power at breaker. GE repair manual says to remove screws for inner door panel and inspect detergent dispenser mechanism with lever and trip lever for broken or binding parts.

Soap dispenser sticks shut

Detergent cup, itself The detergent cup itself can become clogged with old dried detergent that prevents it from opening. Sometimes just cleaning the cup takes care of the problem. If not, you probably need to replace the entire cup assembly
try cleaning it out with hot soapy water make sur its releasing freely ..Hope this helps if not let me know

When I fill up both soap dispensers, only one is empty after the wash. The cover never releases the other soap. It says fill both and then cover the right side. But after the dishes are washed - the...

The electric solenoid that opens the dispenser has failed. It is possible to replace it but you will probably have to disassemble the door to do it. An alternative might be to use a detergent tablet only in the open cup. It will partially dissolve during the pre-wash and what remains to dissolve in the main wash may be enough to get the dishes clean. Try this if the cost of replacing the solenoid is too high.

Dishwasher's detergent reservoir clogged

I have the same problem...I think I mixed the soap types (Enzyme based with Bleach based). The manual clearly says not to do this.

What I did was brought out my trusty wet-vac and sucked it out while using HOT water to break up the crusty mess. I am going to fill the dispenser with water and add soap the old way until I see the "low soap" light go on.
I'll keep you posted if this happens.

SOAP DISPENSING

The soap dispenser is intended for both liquid and powder detergents. If you have a problem with mildew, then you may need to clean it occasionally with bleach water.

Could SOAP DISPENSER be caked with soap???

POWDERED DETERGENTS GET CLOGGED ALOT IN THOSE DISPENSERS. I ADVISE CUSTOMERS TO FILL THERE WASHER AND ADD SOAP WHEN IT STARTS TO AGITATE WHEN USING MORE THAN A 1/2 CUP OF POWDER ... THEN ADD YOUR CLOTHES ... THE WASHER HAS A SAFTEY SWITCH WILL STOP MOST WASHERS WHEN AGITATING OR IN SPIN CYCLE,SO YOU CAN LOAD CLOTHES ... OTHER THAN THAT ... ALL YOU CAN DO IS KEEP THAT DISPENSER FLUSHED OUT WITH HOT WATER AFTER EVERY WASH. JUST POUR HOT WAYER TROUGH IT ... IF THE WATER BACKS UP (EVEN WITH A SLOW POURING) THE DISPENSER IS PLUGGED AND NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED OUT WITH A HOSE. GOOD LUCK AND STAY DRY !!!
