The Lexmark 3200 is a discontinued product. They did not post any drivers for it that is compatible with Leopard. And the Leopard OS does not list it as one of its in-box printer drivers..

Try downloading this

http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-3200

Before you download that, I suggest read through this first..

http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/Database/CUPSDocumentation

Hope it works! =)

How to Get Your Lexmark X7100 Series Printer to Work with Leopard

If you are reading this, then you either obtained a Lexmark x7170 printer which does not seem to work with your Leopard OS or you upgraded to Leopard only to suffer numerous printing issues.

Don't toss your printer into the trash . . . it is possible to make your printer work with OSX Leopard and the following steps will help you achieve this.

The first thing you need to know is DO NOT use the drivers on the Lexmark CD or the ones you download from Lexmark's Web site. Instead, use the drivers that come on the Leopard DVD.

If you upgraded from 10.4, do the following first 4 steps in order to clean up the old driver first before installing the new one. (If you have a clean install, skip steps 2, 3, and 4).

1. Unplug the USB printer cable from your mac.
2. On the System Peferences menu, remove the printer queue clicking the "-" button on the Printes & Faxes dialog
3. Delete the Lexmark folder found in /Library/Printers (get rid of both the contents and folder itself)
4. Delete the file LexmarkUSBMerge.kext in /System/Library/Extensions

5. Insert the Leopard Installer DVD and click Optional Installs

6. Click Optional Install.mpkg

7. Go through the installation process. On the installation type, select
Printer Drivers and click Lexmark Printer Drivers. Click continue and
complete the installation process.

8. Reboot the system

9. Plug back the USB cable

10. Add the printer queue back (if not automatcially)

If the above procedure did not work for you, start over from the beginning but make sure to run a complete search and remove all instances of the
LexmarkUSBMerge.kext file. The procedures above should restore printing back for your Lexmark.

If you have any questions or comments, send them to [email protected]

If you find this tip helpful, please taker the time to give it a good rating.

How do i install to imac?

From the manufacturer's web-site:

http://support.lexmark.com

enter 'x3470' and do a search.

Under the 'download' tab, there are no drivers for Mac OS.

So, either the printer is _NOT_ supported, or Mac OS _includes_ the necessary device-drivers.

Just connect it, and see if the iMac recognizes the hardware, and installs the correct device-drivers.

Can't install my lexmark x6570 to my mac, neither the wireless or USB will work

If you have Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and are using the installation CD to install your printer, that is most likely the reason for your problem. Uninstall all Lexmark software and  download new 10.6 drivers from lexmark.com . If you get an error saying ' Color Table Missing ', you should contact Lexmark Technical Support and have them walk you trough a more thorough cleanup process.

USB Not Connected

first..check through the HP icon here, to see if that printer has a IMAC driver

that might get you there...I'm sure that the USB ports on your IMAC are working..

you can check them with some other device, of course.

Lexmar printer

Thanks for the additional information. This will help in troubleshooting this.

That is most likely why it isn't working. It is possible the driver disk you have simply doesn't have the 10.3.5 driver on it.

You can download the OS X drivers here:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?lxkprod=Lexmark+X1140

Just choose "OS X" from the operating system options.

If further assistance is needed, please ask.
