There are bad capacitors on the power supply.
look for bulged caps
this is a power board going to the lamp of the DLP - 7ce1235.jpg
they look like this
replace the big ones on the power supply to fix the lamp issue
there are more bad ones inside typically on the dm and fmt boards
they are 1000uf - replace those ones with 680uf @ 16v caps

let me know if i can be of further assistance

DLP tv makes spark noise when starting up?

I think that the fuses and the circuit board and the power supply and the fuses are going bad inside of your TV and it is more convenient to purchase another TV than to try and repair your TV that is broken.

Replacing uhp lamp and remove ballast with Xenon lamp and 55W ballast!

You are going to ruin the optics using a Xenon lamp. The ballast in the TV talks back via UART to the CPU. By removing the ballast the TV cannot talk to it and run itself properly. Also using a xenon lamp will give terrible color reproduction as its not putting out nearly enough lumens in the right spectrum. It will also bombard the color wheel and DLP chip with UV light and ruin those as well.

Lamp Problems

If you put in an osram "neolux" type lamp--these will NOT often work in Mits. tv sets. And MIts often sends out Neolux bulbs now. A phillpis bulb for this works MUCH better.

My tv mitsubishi wd-60735 turns on for about 2 min. then shuts off and red lamp light turns on,,,The lamp is only 3 months old.. Do I just need to replace bulb again or is it something else???

Don't know if this applys to you but if you have purchased anything but Osram or Philips replacement lamp for your DLP tv then this is probably your problem.. The generic is VERY tempting in this recession but in this case generic is poison to your dlp tv... i have a Mitsubishi 60735 and went thru 2 generic bulbs when my tv kept shutting down on it's own and the lights on front would flash, i could cut it back on for 10 minutes then flicker and shut down again ..well since the bulb was new i thought it may be defective so i got is exchanged for another one ... after all of the post i have seen how much repairs were going to cost on dlp sets no matter what the problem was ..i was ready to chunk the tv out the door when the second lamp was doing the same thing.....!! well a last ditch effort to save my tv before i trashed it or taking it apart to dissect it.. was to buy a brandname lamp ... in my case i purchased a Philips ..it cost twice as much =/ ..i could just return it if it didn't work.. well it was the generic lamps that was causing trouble.. the brandname worked perfectly .. i am just glad the generic lamp didn't do any damage to my TV!!! I have done further research on the generic lamps and realized that the damage it could have done was not worth the money i saved when i purchesed it... Generic is a great deal In some cases (household cleaners, etc..) but in this case GET THE NAME BRAND!!!! the only name brands i know of for these lamps are Philips or Osram/Sylvania.. hope this helps others from this headache. Do your research don't by generic lamp replacements, your DLP set cost to much to risk it.

I recently replaced the lamp - part # 915P061010. But the TV powers off about every 20 - 30 minutes / red status lamp is illuminated. At times the TV will remain on for hours. But eventually the TV...

It looks like your ballast board is going bad, this is a common problem for DLP TV's the ballast board is the power source to the lamp and if for any reason this board does not send enough energy to the lamp it will turn off, It looks like your ballast it starting to get weak it gathers enough energy to turn on but gets weak again and turn back off you have a new lamp and it requires for the ballast to be working at it's full potential

Lamp Indicator is Red

Its much more likely that your getting a 34 error which is a lamp abnormality vaused by defective capacitors on the power board. You can get the V26 DLP power PWB repair kit at the following link that should repair the issue. Chances are your old lamp is still good.
