Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

I purchased an Alpine Remote RUE-4168 to work with my DVA 5205. Is there some setup procedure needed to sync these two items or should it be plug and play? because nothing is happening.

The DVA-5205 has to have an infrared remote module plugged into it to receive the signal from the remote. I have one also and it doesnt have one and it wont do anything without it. I'd like to know where to get one if you find out. Alpine seems to stop making everything for older models once they come out with new ones.

My zen's screen wont turn on

i'm assuming you pushed the reset button at the bottom already. does it seem like it is booting (does the hard drive spin, the head move?) if nothings moves or spins i'm assuming you have a defective logic board. there is a creative zen repair guide that shows you how to do that, the part is on ebay.

Mp3 player wont charge or turn on

i have the vl 868 and it would only turn on with the charger in- not when it was unplugged. it took me awhile- you have to turn the switch on and then hold play for like 4-5 seconds for it to turn on.

Wont play unless it is plugged in

Hi, I would suggest that the Battery is faulty.. a common occurrence I have found... Try a brand new or fresh charged know good battery.. I think ya may find thats the culprit.. Also check & clean the Batt Cons inside the unit.
