Half inch crystal/ solid white vertical line on screen

I have an InFocus IN72 Projector, when it projects on the screen a half inch vertical crystal line appears on the left side of the screen. Some times this line become solid white, and it nevers goes away. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the projector or I need a new lamp.
Your help will be greatly apreciated.

Thanks,

Marcel

Adjust the horizontal in the menu then try the overscan adjustment. If the image does not look dim you do not need a lamp.

Hi, I just bought a used Infocus in72 projector via eBay and when I did a test run on it today: the screen has a flickering band of white (about 1/8 of the screen width) running vertically down the screen....

The best that you can look out for is to look for GROUNDING problems, loose connectors or faulty cables.
Start by checking out all cables . connectors and see if the power supply ground is well fitted to the chassis. The video or the PC connectors also must be well grounded to the main board , Look for some crack or dry solderr joints in these connectors that could bring these picture noise lines.
Howeverr if you are not able to see or get across these simple problems, i would liike to advice you to try for a exchange which will save you a great deal. Be careful not to damage the WARRANTY SEALS as the dealer may not be helpful.
I hope my advice helps you to decide. Good day

Have wide vertical gray lines on both sides of the screen.Picture quality is good that remains in the centre of the screen.

if the gray lines are equal and perfect, I would say this is the graybar resolution setting and would change the screen ration to a different setting to correct.

When I connect the IN72 to a Digital TV Terminal I see horizontal moving lines on the screen.

the resolution doesn't match. reset the projector settings to factory default and make sure the settings are correct, and if the projector can handle the digital signal. you can also try swapping the cables.

Infucos IN72 projector

Hi Ronnel

This is a common Mainboard failure on a Projector.

The unfortunate thing is that the Mainboard will either have to be repaired or replaced.

Infocus IN72 powers up but no image, replaced the bulb but still no image...

Hi there

This is most probably a Ballast ( lamp's powersupply ) problem.

Make 100% sure that this unit is out of warranty because InFocus Projectors come out standard with a 2 year warranty.

Try using a different cable.

If the response is the same on a different cable , then the Mainboard might be at fault - this machine should still be under warranty and the warranty will cover repairs.
