Noise reproduction problems

Hi there, let's see if somebody can give me a hand :-) Just installed the Plantronics 510 BT headset, and audio input works perfect, but using any program to save/reproduce audio is so noisy I can't hear my voice. Tried with the audio saver tool bundled with XP and with skype with same result. I have muted soundcard microphones just in case but no luck at all. Then checked audio properties, and Plantronics device is correctly specified in both audio and voice. Run a HW test, and exactly the same noisy sound happens when I reproduce the sound saved. Finally I've updated the driver from Plantronics site to latest version, just to give it a try in spite nothing was showed on release notes, needless to say it failed again. I'm beginning to think the headset is defective ! Any ideas ? Thanks in advance ! Hi, I want to pair my platonics 50 head set with my pc. I put it in discovery mode, open my bluetooth places in order to pair and it will not pair. Am I doing something wrong or, will it not pair with a pc. I do not have a mobile phone, at this time,that is bluetooth ready. Can you give me any information? Thank you!!

    Voyager can be used with any softphone without installing PerSonoCall®. However, without PerSonoCall®…

        You must manually enable audio to the headset when you want to use it.

        You cannot answer and end calls by pressing the headset's button - You must use the on-screen controls of your softphone

    Enabling audio without PerSonoCall® is simple: The radio link is controlled by pressing the button on the boom of the Voyager headset. When audio
    is not connected, the USB adapter will show a steady blue LED. By
    pressing the button on the Voyager headset, you can switch on the radio
    link and the adapter LED will start to flash blue. You can now talk
    over the wireless audio
    link. To close the link, press the button again and the adapter LED
    will go back to steady blue. By turning the radio link off when you
    don’t need it, the Voyager headset saves power and will run for a long
    time between charges.

    For your head set the solution is:

    Check to see if there is a green light on the right side of your charging base. If not, the unit will need to be reset.

    If the green light is on, Try to reinstall the unit, Disconnect all parts and install the unit making sure the power supply is the last item connected.

    How to reset the unit:
    * 1. Unplug the AC Power Supply from the right side of the base unit.
    * 2. Unplug the cable from the USB port on your computer.
    * 3. Plug the USB cable back into the USB port on your computer.
    * 4. Wait 10 seconds, then plug the AC Power Supply back into the right side of the base unit.

    To Resubscribe:

    The headset and base unit come subscribed (i.e. "linked") to each other. To re-establish this link (for connection problems), or to use a different headset, you will need to resubscribe the units as follows:

    * 1. Place the headset in the charging base.
    * 2. Use a paperclip to press and hold the subscription button. This is an internal button that can be pressed through the pinhole on the back of the charging base. It is a small hole above the white sticker that says "CS50-USB." Insert a paperclip into the access hole, and press down until the green light on the front of the base begins to flash. This may take 5-10 seconds.
    * 3. Press and hold the volume/mute wheel on the top of the headset until the green light on the headset illuminates.
    * 4. Subscription is complete when the green light on the headset is steady and the red light on the base goes out.
    * 5. If subscription fails within 2 minutes the headset will return to the un-subscribed state.

    *Note: Every time you switch headsets, you will need to resubscribe to the base.

When you press earpiece to pickup call the phone lift not working and a red light blinks on front left on desk top charging station .It worked fine yesturday - I come in today and it doesn't work. there...

How do I put it into discovery mode, so that my laptop will find it?

Most blue tooth manufactures use holding the power on for 6 to 10 seconds when turning on your bt device to put it in discovery mode i hope this helps

The Status Indicator flashes blue when the headset is on. When the battery becomes low, the indicator will flash red.

Turning the plantronics 510 headset off

Holding down the small black button at the top of the earpiece will power down the headset. Plantronics offers great support too so you can contact them at or check out the Plantronics 510 manual for info.

During moving I must have lost my cd for my blue tooth plantronics 510 ic, now I'm not able to install it on my computer so that I can phone hands free

have you tried to download the driver for your blue tooth plantronics 510 ic?
if not is uggest you go to the manufacturers website checkout the driver-software for your "bt" and download it.... if still can't install it form your pc...try to copy the driver to a disc and install your "BT" using the cd.

Noise reproduction problems

I called into Plantronics  Support Phone Number: 1-800-544-4660  with similar issue;  Noise at other end.  Tech (Oscar) told me if I had evidence of purchase date, the one year warranty valid and to send in unit with copy of original receipt.  A replacement will be sent back within 3-5 days of receiving.  He told me to just mail it in an envelope.  No box is necessary.  Hope you call in and get same response.
