Water spilled onto laptop and now its not booting up

Water spills are almost always fatal for laptops. Try this. Pull the battery out. Wrap the laptop in paper towels,put the laptop in a bag of White rice for 24 hours. Then plug the laptop in without the battery and see if the light is on the ac adapter. Turn the laptop on and check the light again. If it doesn't work you will need to replace the keyboard and motherboard. This is usually not worth doing on older laptops.
