My plasma screen won't turn on, but the tv's main power will.

I have had the televison for just over a year and worked fine until recently. The main power can be turned on and off. But.....the screen power will not come on. The only way that even the blue led light will come on is if I hold the power button down on the actual tv itself, but even then.....no picture. The remote has new batteries and works on my other tv. So its not that. I used to be able to just hit the power button on the tv or the remote and it would come right on, but now, nothing. Any suggestions?

Power surge tv won't turn back on

Check and replace its main power regulator board. Before replacing it, check the fuse, can be located on this board itself.

Samsung plasma won't turn on

Here's is what you need to look for when describing a problem for troubleshooting purposes:

0) What model is the TV (you've covered that)

1) Does the TV respond to command to turn on?
(yes - continue; no - 70% bad power, 30% bad main board)

2) Once it responds (clicks), does a front LED or other indication show that it turns on? It's OK if there's no display.

(that can be model specific and is not certain indication for anything until known what is specific for the model)

3) If such an indication comes up does it remain on until you act or does it go off by itself?
(Stays on - power supply likely good; turns off - power supply *may* be good, but not certain)

4) If the power indication stays on by itself can you make it go off by pressing the power button or do you have to disconnect from AC power?
(responds to power off - 90% power supply likely OK and 90% OK main board; does not respond to power off - 90% bad main board)

Here is a link for test/repair of the power supply of your TV, hope it would help:

Samsung plasma tv made a really loud pop and the screen and sound do not work but the red power light won't come off unless the tv is unplugged what happened?

The main power supply regulator board has the fault. Check if any electrolytic capcitor/s has bursted out. Replace them if any. If this do not help you. repalce the board as card basis.
Replacing it as card basis is fine, rather than making 'surgery' to it.

LG 36" plasma flat screen

If the main power supply has failed then the cost of the SMPS must be checked. If there is an upgraded version the compatability also must be checked.
Also spending more on a plasma TV must be checked as the cost of new generation TV's have come down. So a good estimation with a Guaranteed service solution is the need and not one which you can take a chance resulting in total loss in case of a failure or a problem further in the motherboard when the power supply is installed.

Tv wont turn on, geen light flickjers but goes back to red and does ot turn on, i unplugged tv while it was on by accident.

The main board and or power supply is seeing a problem is shutting down the TV.
The cause for your issue could be the power supply, main board, and or the drive board(s) that drive the plasma screen. Sorry, but to trouble shoot that issue would require some TV tools and knowledge of electronics.
Perhaps the following can help you with a warranty repair.
1. If your TV was purchased from January 1 2008 to today---The TV does have a 1 year warranty on parts/ labor and a 2 year warranty on just the plasma screen.
2. If your TV was purchased before January 1 2008---The TV does have a 2 year warranty on parts/ labor and a 2 year warranty on just the plasma screen.
I hope this information has helped you.
Good Luck.

Inability to turn on plasma screen

You have a power supply fault or one of the drive boards that drive the plasma screen is loading down the power supply. This power supply may be part of the entire main board. Good Luck
