My HP Mini 'sees' the installed battery and tells me it is charging it (while plugged into the wall). It works normally while plugged in, but won't even start from the battery alone.

Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

my battery was charged the whole night but it can only used for half an hour is that means that the battery is already loose?

could be. oNe thing to try is let the battery die completely. Then try an overnight charge. If it still works the same, then the battery has bad cells and will need to be replaced. Good Luck.

i have mb-msi2000-815e pro ver1, it is constantly beeping. change the memories, agp,, but it still continues.what could be wrong/

1.Your first step is to look at the information about the meaning of the beeping codes. Beep codes are important and useful tools when troubleshooting booting issues. When you turn on your computer system, it is called POST (Power On Self Test).

2.No beep is usually a power problem that can be related to the power supply, motherboard or both. Always check your battery power before thinking there is a bigger problem.

3.One beep is a normal POST. That means everything is fine.

Two, Three, or Four short beeps are normally about the memory of the machine. If there is a problem with one of your memory chips you should get beeps of different combinations in this area. If you get two or three short beeps, one or both of your memory chips could be in trouble.

4.Five beeps point toward motherboard or CPU problems. Make sure your memory and video card are seated properly. Try removing them and putting them back in, only if you are comfortable with computers.

Six, seven and eight beeps.

Eight beeps indicate problems with your video card. Six or Seven are CPU, or a bad chip on the motherboard.

Nine beeps mean the BIOS is bad. Replace the motherboard.

Ten beeps means the problem is in the CMOS. All chips need to be replaced.

5.Eleven beeps are related in the cache of the mother board and this means that the motherboard needs replaced.

One long and three short beeps mean that it is related to a loose memory chip. Try reseating it.

One long and eight short beeps means that the video cards needs reseated.

6.I hope that this list of beep codes will help settle the panic you feel when your computer is sick. If all fails, Then you inform me

my computer beeps continuously every time i have it plugged in

Try this suggestion. Turn off your laptop, remove the cables and battery on the pc. Press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop and then turn on the pc. If it still continues to beep with no interruption, it is a problem on the motherboard. I suggest to call Acer and have your computer repaired immediately unless if you know how to reseat the motherboard by tearing down the laptop..
