Archos Gmini 402 camcorder 20GB digtal media player
I have a problem with my Archos Gmini 402 camcorder 20GB Digital Media Player. The slot inside the player which is used for connecting with earphone is not working well. I mean the connection between player and earphone is not working well. Some time I only can hear rightside earphone. Do you have any idea about how can I fix it up? Or do I have to chang the slot and where can I buy it?

Try turning the unit on with the hard drive disconnected. When I did this (mine had a similar problem) a screen came up and asked me if I wanted to format. I plugged the hard drive back in and reformatted. I had to format twice, but after that it worked fine.
If you have problems with the file system on your Gmini? 402 you can try to fix it using the DOS utility, check disk (chkdsk).
Do the following;
? Make sure external AC adapter is powering the Gmini? 402.
? Quit all running applications.
? Properly connect the Gmini? 402 to your computer
? Wait patiently (up to 5 minutes) for Windows XP to show the local drive as mounted.
? Open a DOS window. Programs > Accessories > command Prompt.
? At the prompt, type chkdsk e: /f. Use e: or f: or whatever drive letter is representing your Gmini? 402. The /f argument tells the program to automatically fix errors.
? Be patient, this may take a while.
? When it is finished, exit the DOS Window and properly disconnect the Gmini? 402 from your computer.
Try it now and see if makes any difference,
