Do you mean it is not speaking the street names? Have you selected a voice that uses the Text-to-speach (TTS) feature? From the main screen press, "Tools", then "Settings", then "Language." Next to the voices that will speak street names, you will see the (TTS) designation. Press one of these and the unit should tell you the street names.
As far as I am aware, Streetpilot C330 doesn't call street names. Check this specifications sheet on garmin's website: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=6385#specsTab
Question: How do I change the Voice Language setting on my nuvi 2xx?
-->
Answer:
All of the Garmin® automotive GPS units that speak street names are also loaded with basic voice prompts (example: Turn Right in 500 feet) as well as Text-to-Speech (TTS) voices that speak street names. If one of the basic types of voice prompts has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak street names.
In order to change this setting on the nüvi® 2xx series, follow these steps:
In the Main Menu, touch Tools (Wrench icon).
Touch Settings.
Press the Down arrow in the bottom right corner.
Select Language.
The first line on this screen is the Voice language. Touch the Current Voice option for the GPS device listed to change the Voice.
Select a Voice that is labeled TTS. These will speak street names. Options without the TTS label will say the distance until the next turn, but will not include the street name.
Question:
My nuvi is supposed to speak streetnames when giving voice prompts but it doesn't. How can I fix this?
Answer:
All of the Garmin automotive GPS units that speak streetnames are also loaded with basic voice prompts (i.e. 'Turn Right in 500 feet') as well as 'text-to-speech' voices that speak streetnames. If one of the basic types of voice prompts has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak streetnames. In order to change this setting on the nüvi line of products, please follow these steps:
In the Main Menu, tap on the Settings icon.
Tap on "Locale"
The
second line on this screen has a picture of a mouth. To the right, the
current voice for the GPS device is listed. Tap it to change the voice.
Select a voice that is labeled with (TTS) at the end. These voices will speak streetnames.
You have to select one of the "TTS" voices (TTS stands for text to speech). These are the voices capable of saying the street names (although the mispronunciations are often amusing)
