Question about Cooktops

1 Answer

Electric stove I was cooking on my electric stove top. When I finished I turned the dial to off. I started cleaning up the kitchen and notice the one of the burner was still on, I turned the knob again and the burner was still on. I unplugged the stove from the wall for about 10 minutes. When I plugged it back up to the wall, the burner came back on. The dial is on the off position.

I have a 4 burner Jenn-Air JED8430ADB electric radiant heat stove that has recently stopped working. It has been installed for many years (came with the house) and worked fine until now. When I turn one...

The cook top is connected to 220 volts. In the house wiring there are two legs each 115 volts. Usually they connect with a red wire, black wire and the third a neutral. It is likely that at the connection to the unit or at the electrical box a connection has failed or the 220 volt circuit breaker has failed on one leg. A qualified electrician needs to do the repair!

Spot on Jenn Air smooth cook top stove with down draft.

Use Cooktop Cleaner with a soft micro cloth. Don't use water. Buff until the mark disappears. Hint: Never clean the cooktop until it is completely cool to touch as doing so makes cleaning much harder. Never use abrasives on the glass or abrasive cast iron skillets.

I did not receive instructions with my G E Profile cook top Model No. 80030750434). There is a build up on the elements which I am having problems removing. Should the top be scraped while the stove is hot or cold? What is the best cleaning product to use?
